Need a playtester for my new game From: randygr@aol.com (RandyGr) Date: Sun, 23 Dec 2001 20:28:50 +0000 I am still in the Alpha testing stage and need another player to take over a vacated position. The game has not yet started so you will be in from the beginning. I need someone that can submit weekly turns and give daily feedback in needed. I am still in the process of writing my moderator programs so the beginning of the game will be moderated by hand. Here's a brief idea of what the game is about (it's a fairly simple game since this is my 1st attempt at actually writing the code to run the game): In this futuristic game, players compete for supremacy of a small, mineral rich (and unclaimed) planet. Each player has a Dropship to command. From this ship, the player will build and send forth Battle Droids to collect minerals on the planet's surface. These minerals will be used to build or repair the Droids and to perform research for ways to increase the Droids abilities. The planet's surface is hostile as are the other Droids that are performing the same activities. Thus, the Droids may have to battle each other for the minerals on the surface. Each player will begin the game with a Dropship already located on the planet's surface and enough minerals (1,000) to construct 5 Battle Droids. (Note: No points can be carried over.) These 5 must use existing technology. Later, newly gained points can be used to build new Droids, or upgrade or repair existing ones. Droids move around, explore new terrain and mine the (NR) Natural Resources within the planets surface. NR is also known as minerals. Minerals mined are transferred to the Dropship by a complex tele-transporter from the Droids. The game is over once a percentage of the minerals have been mined from the planet. This percentage is a number between 50 and 100%. At the beginning of the game, each player submits his or her goal number. The actual number used will be the average number from all the players. The players do not know what this number is until it has been reached. At this point, whichever player has scored the most points will be declared the winner. Points are scored for mining the minerals, destroying other Battle Droids, researching new technologies, exploring the planet and a few other hidden methods. Thanks. Up
