Any AD&D GMs for hire for personal PBEM campaign? From: bazuulbazuul@hotmail.com (Bazuul) Date: Wed, 06 Feb 2002 19:49:01 +0000 Hi, New to this board and PBEM in general. Here is my situation in a nutshell. I live in California and recently rediscovered an old friend who now lives in Hong Kong. Given how busy we are at our jobs and the huge time difference between our continents, I thought that a good way to maintain our friendship and interact is through an informal PBEM AD&D campaign. SOmething that would take us 15-30mins a day (longer on weekends or for semi-infrequent pivotal points in the plot). I spent a little while reviewing the vast PBEM offerings on the web. By and large, they are too complicated and crowded for my tastes. And I don't want to dilute somebody else's experience by my own lack of experience. So here is what I'm looking for. I'm looking to start a new campaign with just my friend and I with level 1 characters following the AD&D rule set. My friend and I are familiar with the rules in a broad sense, but don't have a complete grasp of the finer points. Encumberance, called shots, custom spells etc. not really important -- just a good story that we can follow and help build as well as an opportunity to develop characters. Open to any setting, but am particularly interested in a Drow fantasy campaign. I could provide background for a launching point. My question is this: Are there any GMs available for hire that would like to help us? What donation amount would make it worthwhile? What can I do to make it more enticing for a GM to accept? This shouldn't take too much of their time.... no need for fancy maps, graphics, sound files, etc although it is something I can look into if offered. Any feedback appreciated.
