New: The Wrecking Crew (free-moderation, open-ended, email, human, space, wargame) From: lindahl@pbm.com (Greg Lindahl) Date: Sun, 10 Mar 2002 20:13:19 +0000 Name: The Wrecking Crew Costs: no cost Frequency: once per week or once per two weeks Email: Warhawktbc@earthlink.net Type: Battletech Last-Update: 2002Mar06 Keywords: free-moderation, open-ended, email, human, space, wargame Description: Its a battletech game and it starts in 3024. Star League technology is around still, but very limited, other than that its based on the normal 3025 timeline. You will NOT be playing battletech. You will be commanding a company sized unit (with an oppoptunity to move up to battalion or even regimental command, with the companies under you being commanded by other players) and in doing so you will be sending in orders about how you want to attack/what you want to do. However I am not expecting and you will not be seeing a battletech map sheet being set up, and you will not be sending me orders about moving a Orion to hex 1504 facing 1503. The smallest unit to move around will be a lance, and you need to have an understanding of how the military does work (as opposed to sometimes how the battletech world has it work, i.e. Artillery shells do not takes minutes on end to get from launching point to the target) However battlemechs are still the main unit we'll be using, and you do need a working knowledge of battletech to fall back on, and battletech products at your disposal. For instance, if you become a battalion commander you may have need of a technical readout containing dropships, to make sure that you can take every mech, tank, aerospace fighter, and infantry man along with you. Enough rambling for now. If interested drop my a line, with any questions you have, plus a resume so to speak (how long you have been playing, how many products you own and for what timelines) and we'll see if we can get you involved.
