New: USS AGAMMENON (free, open-ended, email, human, space, rpg) From: lindahl@pbm.com (Greg Lindahl) Date: Sat, 30 Mar 2002 23:13:17 +0000 Name: USS AGAMMENON Costs: free URL: http://www.agammenon.org Frequency: once per week Email: info@agammenon.org Type: A Star Trek pbem RPG/ interactive fiction game Last-Update: 2002Mar27 Keywords: free, open-ended, email, human, space, rpg Description: In a daring experiment by Starfleet, the USS AGAMMENON has been placed under the command of Captain Miranda Eliot, the first hologram to attend and graduate from Starfleet Command School. It should be an occasion for celebration but Eliot's appointment instead sparks resentment and unease among the most senior ranks of Starfleet. In an attempt to calm the unrest, it is decided that the AGAMMENON's first mission with the new captain at the stern will be a quiet, uncontroversial one, to simply chaperone a caravan of colonists to their new home. Easy and uncomplicated. Only, since when do things ever go as planned? The USS AGAMMENON is a PBEM (play by email) Roleplaying game set in a non-canon universe inspired by Paramount's Star Trek. Rated PG-13, it plays out themes of hope, redemption, and exploration. In short, the human condition. We are an independent ship focusing on quality not quantity, targeting character and story development instead of advancing in rank, since we believe rank to be largely irrelevant. Everyone has a chance to impact the story equally, whether you are the captain or the ensign in astrophysics. We are a PG-13 ship, although we understand lots fall under PG-13, and we will be delving into the depths of humanity and how far it can plunge or rise. Open positions include but are not limited to: Executive Officer (would prefer a very strong writer with some experience) Chief of Operations Engineering Chief Science Chief Flight Control Officer Security/Tactical Chief Chief Medical Officer Ship's Counselor The USS AGAMMENON: Will this AGAMMENON fare better than the Greek tragical figure?
