New: Acquisition (free, open-ended, email, mixed, historical, economic, rpg) From: lindahl@pbm.com (Greg Lindahl) Date: Fri, 12 Apr 2002 19:13:18 +0000 Name: Acquisition Costs: $0 URL: http://cs.beloit.edu/entproj/ Frequency: 3/week Email: acqgamemaster@yahoo.com Type: role-playing economic email-based game :) Last-Update: 2002Apr11 Keywords: free, open-ended, email, mixed, historical, economic, rpg Description: The Age of Italian Merchants enabled many common families to rise to the status undreamed of by their ancestors. Commanding enormous wealth due to their quick wit and well-managed businesses, Italian merchants ruled over cities, influenced countries and sponsored wars; in a certain sense, they owned Europe. On one hand, lack of commercial competition in Medieval Europe allowed first businesses to flourish. On the other hand, it was very hard to operate in an undeveloped economy. Some people succeeded, whereas some failed. This game presents players with a chance to prove that they could have been Lorenzo di Medici. Technical Note: This web site will not display properly on Internet Explorer for MACs. If you use a Mac, try Netscape Navigator it should work :) Feel free to email me at ACQGamemaster@yahoo.com with any questions or suggestions. The game is in a Testing stage.
