Good programmer, from what I remember.<< Duncan was pretty good when he joined us, but he's absolutely brilliant these days. He's kind of grown as we've grown. ><wild speculation>I suspect Duncan could probably earn a fair chunk more elsewhere, if he wanted. I guess he enjoys the atmosphere/firm/work, which helps a lot. :-)</ws> << Duncan likes to work really odd hours, to miss days whenever he likes, to have a lot of freedom, and to be able to swear copiously in thick Scottish at the boss. Not many jobs give the environment he likes, I guess <g> He's quit to start a career a couple of times, but always returns pretty swiftly. We get along very well and work well, which I think is a driving factor. Finding a job you love is something everybody wants, but only a lucky few achieve. >>Plus there's the additional problem that if they're already working for companies, the IP clauses in their contracts might make things awkward at a later stage if they're just doing this for a hobby - some companies try to claim rights on everything an employee does, even if it's in their own time.<< Yep. Quite a few companies require you to sign an agreement saying you will NOT work on any external projects. Steve T. Referenced By Up
