APWA Fantasy Wrestling PBM Is Open! From: cybercop940@aol.com (CyberCop940) Date: Sat, 18 May 2002 11:10:32 +0000 My name is Jim Womack and I would like to put play by mail fantasy wrestling back on the map again. That is why I have founded and opened the American Pro Wrestling Alliance that is a fed played through the mail and which I am planning to start in June. I have several players so far already and I am always looking and searching for new players as well as veteran players. Allow me to describe the APWA to you. The APWA is going to be an independent wrestling organization based in the United States. The APWA focuses on the traditional aspect of wrestling but since the APWA has been created for the players and will be operated for the players, the APWA will also allow any type of gimmick and specialty match as well. The APWA will not recognize a World Heavyweight Champion being an independent promotion, the APWA will instead recognize the APWA Heavyweight Champion and the same applies for tag teams. The APWA is currently broken up into three regions (Mid South, Mid Atlantic, and Smoky Mountain). More regions will open up at a later time once more wrestlers flow into the APWA to fill up the other regions. The APWA is also affiliated with a an umbrella organization called the United Wrestling Promotions (UWP) along with several other organizations ranging from play by mail feds to e-feds. All the federations in the UWP will occassionly get together to put on mega and blockbuster pay per view supercards. The UWP also has sanctioned there own titles as well. Now about what it costs to play in the APWA and what you get. There is no cost to enter the APWA, but matches will cost $1.00 each with special fees being applied to special contests and tournaments. The APWA will have a weekly television program every week called "Saturday Night Slammasters" with the results mailed out every monday. The APWA operates on a monthly basis and each player will recieve a monthly bulletin or newsletter jammed packed with tons of reading from roll call of champions, rankings, match results, comments, sneak attacks, news, views, rumors, reports, columns, and much more basically anything the players can put their imaginations into, to make the APWA a success. In the APWA, matches will never end in the same fashion and a wrestler can both win and lose to the same opponent all in one month. Moves are not assigned a point value instead the player chooses his own moves and distributes damage points between the moves. Damage points determine how effective and how much damage a move will have on an opponent. I hope you enoyed what you read and hope that it sparks your interest to join the APWA. If you are interested please let me know and I will send a free information packet to you including The Official APWA Player's Guide and Wrestler Creation Forms. Thank you for your time.
