I think this is right on the spot. I've experienced people going on about
doing a postal RPG in Norwegian (my place) and when I finally give them the
offer they shut up, because a mere half dollar for the turn is too much. And
they even have the audacity to tell me such games are free in the US and
England, as if I did not know about all the "free" games and their overall
quality.

It's young people, but still they pay a lot more for a lot less in other
channels, as the movies or a beer (or virtually anything up here). It's all
culture and a peculiar kind of commercial blindness.

In my world the games you pay for have three benefits:

- they must tell you what they are all about, and be prepared to give you
exactly that.

- thay don't fold just as easy

- the players are more loyal, and the players you meet are often the best
part of the fun
