Dark Fort Weyr From: "Laura Walker" <shewhoguards@ntlworld.com> Date: Sun, 29 Sep 2002 10:54:59 +0000 "Live fast, die horribly." If you're seeking a Pern game which is a little different to what you're already playing, something to give you a change from what you're used to, take a look at Dark Fort. Here, you'll find a Weyr where leadership is all too human, and as such has given way to human prejudice and nastiness. Here, as much as a Weyr CAN, the attitude edges on homophobia, and colour ranking is rampant. Golds, bronzes and browns are viewed as important, and blues and greens had best get used to saying "sir" a lot. Here, you'll find a Weyr where females are only searched for gold, and rarely Impress any other colour. The place for a woman is barefoot and pregnant, or busy in the laundryroom or kitchens. And here, politics threads its way among everything, and change will not happen overnight. Recently, there are murmurs among a few that there is a way other than this, that things can change. Those foolish enough to challenge the authorities outright though, quickly find themselves placed dangerously next Fall. The way forward is a sly one, and must be conducted in whispering campaigns and passed notes as rebellion will simply be squashed. Can you see enough shades of grey to understand how such a situation might come about? Even to understand why not ALL of those involved would WANT change? Can you stand to change the world in years, rather than days, or even to oppose the worldchangers? Would you like to join the deep and involved plotlines of the Laundry Room? If so, join us. Dark Fort Weyr is a new sister Weyr to the Arolos timeline, and searching for people who'd like something different in their Pern roleplay. IC play won't be starting until Oct 15th - until then we'll be giving new members time to submit persona sheets, and to plot, letting the characters form their alliances. Plot well, for in an atmosphere such as this, mistakes could be fatal. In this complicated chessgame of Pern, are you a King, or a pawn to be sacrificed for the greater good? Only time will tell. http://www.darkfort.co.uk - it's your move. -- "Always ask - What Would Google Do? " "You love me because I'm broken" Up
