only 2 pupil slots left in the Galaxy Explorer Academy game From: "Alexander Supalov" <supalov@foni.net> Date: Tue, 05 Nov 2002 20:00:42 +0000 Hi everybody! I thought that you may wish to participate in the coming Galaxy Explorer Academy game. The whole point of this special interest tournament is to bring new players into the GE orbit, and to launch them into the glorious future. Due to this, it will be a team game for teams of two players each. One of the players (a battle hardened GE veteran) will act as a tutor. The other player (a GE novice or a hopeful apprentice like you) will act as a pupil. Of course, no mercy is supposed to be granted by the tough aliens to either. So, if you want to learn Galaxy Explorer tricks and traps, please sign up for the Academy game by sending the following data: 1. Your email address 2. Preferred turn frequency 3. Desired game duration 4. GE experience (optional) to either judge@xsa.org or directly to me under supalov@foni.net , mentioning the words "Academy game signup" in the subject line of your application. I'll do my best in finding a match for you in the nearby time zone. My current plan is to limit the game duration to at most 40 turns, and to process the turns at most twice a week. This should give the teams enough time to co-ordinate their efforts. This should also help to avoid overburdening those players who are involved in some of the three currently running solo GE games, and the many games to come. The usual team winning criteria will apply, i.e., the team with: 1. The largest number of members standing (i.e., having at least one homeworld) 2. Item 1 being equal, the biggest number of homeworlds 3. Items 1 and 2 being equal, the highest composite power ranking will win this game. Any questions left? Just write me up. Best regards.
