New: CONFLICT OF INTEREST (free, open-ended, email, human, modern, rpg) From: lindahl@pbm.com (Greg Lindahl) Date: Mon, 18 Nov 2002 08:14:38 +0000 Name: CONFLICT OF INTEREST Costs: $0 Frequency: Free-Form Email: sydjim@ozemail.com.au Type: Modern Roleplaying Last-Update: 2002Nov15 Keywords: free, open-ended, email, human, modern, rpg Description: Greetings, 'Conflict of Interest' is a freeform game set in the modern day. Basically you take over a country and run it anyway you like, the only real rule we have is to keep it within the bounds of realism. In addition to players roleplaying their country and Government by introducing new legislation and other initiatves, the GM (me) will also post news reports that leaders can respond to. Generally this will mean that the country has to take action and failure to do so may sometimes, not always, lead to more severe consequences later on. As every action has an equal and opposite reaction. This is a political simulation more than a military simulation, although there will be the need to deal with troop movements and probably war at some stage, there won't be any platoon scale battles. This means no plethora of mind-numbing stats or complicated turnsheets for a players to wade through which detracts from the game. As such I'm looking for a person with a creative writing ability that is able to give other players story lines to play off, more than someone who wants to "win at all costs" and likes "counting the bombs". This game has no end goal, like life its about survival and being politically dominant and having fun. Word of warning before you sign up however, inactivity without good reason is not hurting the GM in anyway, its hurting the other players, as such I will not hesitate to remove players who do not add to the sum total of the game. If you have read all this and still think you have what it takes, write me an email at sydjim@ozemail.com.au with a list of countries you would like to run. See you in the action!
