New: Palatium (free, closed-ended, email, mixed, historical, wargame, abstract) From: lindahl@pbm.com (Greg Lindahl) Date: Sat, 07 Dec 2002 20:14:48 +0000 Name: Palatium Costs: free Frequency: one per two weeks Email: tribenet@netspace.net.au Type: strategic, diplomacy, wargame Last-Update: 2002Dec04 Keywords: free, closed-ended, email, mixed, historical, wargame, abstract Description: Palatium is the latest PBEM game in the Tribe Vibes/Tribe Net stable of build/war game campaigns. These games have been running reliably as PBEM games for about 7 years and are played by about 200 players. Palatium is a free, closed-ended version of its open-ended counterparts. You lead a Tribe of people in the Iron Age to post Iron Age. Your Tribe, along with those of two other players, forms a Clan. There are four Clans in the game each striving to be the first to build Palatium. Crucial to this are the positive arts of negotiation and strategic planning, combined with the more dubious arts of deceit and rhetoric. Conflicts develop through the way you conduct yourself, and thus can be avoided. On the other hand, while the normal civilization game treats war as an abstraction this is not the case in Palatium where the defense of your Clan can become a real and serious matter. To put it simply; do you trade or blade? Two-week turnaround. Peter at tribenet@netspace.net.au [ This is a new entry for the PBM List.
