There are a number of games like it. Check out the PBeM web page

then narrow down your selections using any of the filters such as
fantasy,computer,email,wargame

Games that I've played that I would recommend on that list are:
Legends (a bit pricey but extremely colorful*)
Eldritch (My personal favorite, cheap and well moderated, the
moderator is gearing up to attempt a more colorful* form of the game)
Atlantis (There are many clones of this game out there. Cheap and very
interactive. But it has some 'features' that favor lucky players)

Other games of note
Dungeonworld (The moderator is quite active on this list which is a
VERY good sign that he will be responsive)
Olympia (A simple game with a lot of player interaction, though I
think I may have heard that new positions are difficult to get)

*By colorful I mean that the world is historically detailed and your
play is dramatically influenced by NPC politics and special political
based victory conditions, something I recall was true about OTS.
