Description:

What is Avast! PBEM? A fairly freeform RPG set in a world that is
quite unique and original against the background of most PBEM's.  High
seas piracy is the name of the game, which takes place in a fictional
world based partially on history, fiction, and some original ideas.
	The key feature of the game is the broad spectrum of players and
characters we're aiming for.  Are you the type who would do historical
research before creating a character? Great! Do you just want to do your
best imitation of a pop culture pirate swilling grog and saying things
like "Shiver me timbers!?" That's fine too. Or perhaps something different
even-a cynical modern type character, some kind of person completely wild
and over the top, or even someone who doesn't take anything too seriously.
The only binding rule is that it keep with the theme of a piratical world,
though this doesn't necessarily mean you have to be a pirate; traders,
merchants, keepers of seedy bars...anything in this sort of vein is
welcome.
