New game: Pax Romana From: 428395@cepsz.unizar.es (Panchito) Date: Thu, 13 Feb 2003 22:56:42 +0000 Pax Romana is a turn-based strategy game for 15 to 26 players. You are a roman governor / barbarian king who wants to take over Europe. Your means to do so will be diplomacy and strength, and you will need BOTH to win. You are free to form alliances and betray other players, as well as helping them out or invading them if you have the guts and the troops. You have several territories in your province / kingdom that will give you resources you'll have to manage for developing your land, buying army and trading with other players. This is a diplomacy heavy game, your best bet is to get others to ally with you or fight among themselves. There's no such thing as "good" or "bad" here, you will do what you have to do to guide your people to hegemony over the continent. Others can either join you of fall at your feet. You can get the manual here: ftp://pax:romana@212.97.168.207 Go into the EDITIO BRITANNICA folder and there you will find everything you need. The FTP might be off a few hours during the day. If you cannot connect please try again a few hours later. You only need a computer running Windows95 or better, and Microsoft Office to read the documents and run the turn program once it is ready. This turn program will make all the basic calculations for you, as well as giving you all the information you will need to play. You will create your turn with this program and then email it to me (428395@cepsz.unizar.es). When i have all the turns, i will correct them and put them in the FTP server (same site where you downloaded the manual from). You get the corrected turn from there and make a new turn. The turns will be corrected every week, but if i have them all earlier, i will correct earlier. Do not hesitate and sign up for free! You will have the pleasure of mocking your friends and backstabbing them when they least expect it. Or you can be a do-gooder trying to bring some sanity to the world. It's your call! How do i sign up? You only have to email me to 428395@cepsz.unizar.es from the email address you will use for the game (these addresses will be public for all the players) with your name/nick and the password you will use for the program (make sure there's no way i can misinterpretate the password and notice that it will be case sensitive). Please start the subject with PAX ENGLISH and then whatever is needed. This will make it easier for me to manage all the emails. I will reply to you confirming your sign up, so if you don't get a reply in 48 hours, email me again, please. I'd like to start in less than 2 weeks, so don't leave it for tomorrow. :) Up
