We've had this argument loads of time.  it's already been pretty much agreed by
the regular users that Greg's posts are fine, after much argument.

It's also generally understood that it really doesn't matter who agrees anyway,
since Greg can post anything he likes.  Nobody controls this newsgroup or has
the power to enforce any rules anyway.

I don't agree at all that the announcements are a "major purpose of this group"
though.  The group existed long before they were here and would, I suspect,
exist long after they ended, if they ever did.

I have nothing at all against game announcements myself.  I've made them a few
times, in fact.  I do think those people should make their own announcements,
rather than going through a third party, since that would make them more likely
to actually be running or be of any decent quality IMHO.

I find the auto-posts a little annoying, but Im aware im in the minority and
that's fine. It's really not a big deal.  They are nowhere near as annoying as
"get your legal high here" or "make a billion dollars in thirty seconds".
