Description:

I looked around pbm.com and didn't find any active gladiatorial games. So
I made my own.

Scangroth's Pit (otherwise known as Kingswood Arena) is a D&D gladiator
game along the lines of Torgal's Pit and Ultrann's Pit, which have both
been dead for quite some time.

In this game, you create a 5th level D&D character using the 3rd edition
rules, and then pit him or her against other combatants to please the
crowd.

After creating your character, with some regulation by me, all you need to
do is submit your strategy for your next match. These usually occur once
per week, and the matches are simulated either by me or my "helper",
Cresus. You can email her at pmCRESUS@hotmail.com as well.

However, another level of participation is required. You, as a main-event
gladiator, are put in charge of 6 to 10 "secondary" gladiators- those of a
lower skill level than you.

You must right one or two matches each week, to be emailed to me on a
certain day of the week, involving some or all of those gladiators. Why?
To keep participation high, to have something for the crowds or lurkers to
watch or read every day.

Experience and knowledge with the D&D 3rd edition rules is imperative. If
you do not have any, you may not be a gladiator. However, you can still
lurk, bet on matches, or participate in some other creative way that YOU
thought of.

Anyway, a little description of the setting.

The city of Kingswood Alpha is quite unique. It is not located on the
world as we know it, on a separate plane of existence, created by the man
known only as Scangroth, along with his Rakshasa ally, Cresus.

Originally, he had entrapped a rural villiage named Narwool in this place,
to have them watch the fights. However, he made an economic deal with
Orbus Fiddler, the mayor of the city of Kingswood, located on the material
plane. Kingswood used to be a metropolis. People were leaving because
there was nothing to do, and the gladiatorial games of Scangroth's
Demiplane seemed to be just the thing the city needed. The demiplane's
city was now no longer called Narwool. It is now named Kingswood Alpha.

Thus, a giant planar gate was constructed, linking both cities in their
hearts to each other. Now, business is booming as never before. Everyone
wants to come and see the games.

The old gladiators were thrown out, or decreased to a lower rank. New
gladiators are being sought, to fight under the bright sun of the
demiplane, simulating a perfect environment.

Anyway, I did that kind of quickly. Just see the site and give me an
email!! We already have four gladiators, and the site is about 80%
finished.
