Description:

This game is set to take place right after the turn of the next Millenium.
 Earth, while still containing some life has been quarantined from the
United Planets, due to rampant nano-plagues, polution, and global warming.
 It is in fact a curse to tell someone to "Go to Earth!"  Mars as the
oldest settled planet is in fact the capitol of the United Planets, and
has been Terraformed significantly, though not completely.  There are also
human settlements on Earth's moon, the Asteroid Belt, Titan, 2 planets
orbiting Alpha Centauri, and 1 in the Altair system.

There are three other intelligent star-faring species which humans have
come in contact with:  the Greys (who are the "grey aliens" of popular
culture today, there are even a few "half-greys" from their breeding
experiments with humans), the Saurians ( warlike reptiles similar to what
Raptors might have evolved into if mammals had not come to be on Earth,)
and Maua (feline like bipeds.)	At the start of the game, no known battles
or conflicts have existed between humans and these species, but that may
change during play.

Spaceflight is primarily solar and nuclear powered with speeds approaching
but not reaching light speed.  Cryogenics are in widespread use for longer
journeys, and with improved medical technology human lifespan is roughly
2.5 times what it is now.  Planetary governments are mostly autonomous,
but the United Planets has a secret service which attempt to control the
actions of the independant governments.  Nanotechnology is heavily
regulated, and mostly illegal in the UP due to the consequences on Earth.

The game is to be free form with no dice or randomness.  Players will
write interactive fiction posts based around their own character's
perspective, but at times playing other characters so long as the "big
decisions" are left to their respective players.  I will GM, creating
scenarios (though players may freely add to these) controlling NPCs,
fielding questions, and making final judgement calls.

I am looking for 3-5 players to start, preferably with a background in
reading SF literature, writing, and having played other RPGs.  This is an
independant "universe" which will not use characters or aliens from
popular series or movies.  You may play any of the species outlined and
should submit a general idea for a character.  I will suggest possible
changes and go back and forth with you until we have an interesting
personality to interact with the others.  Nothing is fully defined at this
time, so you may make extensive suggestions regarding technology, culture,
and the like.
