Description:

The Republic: The Revolution Role-Playing game is a popular simulation of
the world portrayed in the afformention computer game (Please note however
that only a few elements such as place names are actually taken from this
game, the style of play has very little in common).

The game is played out using posts made on a forum and through a private
messaging function. Players are encouraged to join together in groups
called parties and stand for election, players can become Members of
Parliament, Senators or even the President. Further gameplay is introduced
by the inclusion of both player and GM created events.

Political debate, civil war, espionage, corruption, all of these things
are possible under the rather modest interface. To give an example of the
sort of things that have happened already during the current and previous
to version of the game, there have been wars, civil wars, journalistic
slander campaigns, during the current game an attack was made on a BBB
(one of the political parties) building by the NAL, in retaliation the BBB
decided to fight back against them, however the KPN, the party in power
decided to help the NAL in exchange for votes in the next election.
