A Weeping Tale - awesome From: oinkyfattypig@hotmail.com (Moonbiter) Date: Wed, 04 Feb 2004 16:55:23 +0000 Weeping Tale is built on the same grand scale as LOTR. It involves various Powers which represent the ultimate good and evil, as well as factions that represent gods that order balance and the slow decay of independent city states and the insanity of the Wild. Players play godlike beings who control their minions in an effort to preserve or destroy, as is their focus. There is a sadness to the game, as the beauty of a world fades, eaten by corruption and darkness. Powers (godlike beings) represent varying Colours, which decide their focus in the game. There are elements of both strategy and rpg-ing. The world itself has a soul the Farstream, and souls enter there to be preserved or reborn into other forms, known as the Eidolon. Warfare is on a massive scale, and the scope of the game is Epic to say the least. Turns involve many aspects, and warfare is represnted with story telling and number crunching. Quite simply, it is the most unique game you will ever find, and the satisfaction of playing is high. The forces are represented by the Light of Powers drawn to heavenly beauty, The Dark which represent corruption, the Grey of balance, the Colourless, who have a draconian control over their people, and the madness and splendour of Nature, in it's many forms. You will a depth uncontested by most backgrounds, and turnaround is weekly, which makes the demand on your time at a level which won't destroy your enjoyment. The cost is 5.00 per hour of moderation, which makes most turns roughly 3.00. My GM'ing experience is laid over ten years, and I ran Tribes of Crane and re-wrote it a game that is the water-mark of original PBMs. I can promise you something special.
