[GALAXY] New Blind Galaxy Game Starting From: schmidtb@storm.myrnek.de (Bernhard Schmidt) Date: Thu, 29 Jan 2004 10:23:06 +0000 Update for all of you who never heard of Galaxy or servers running it: (1) it's free - I don't charge any fees for running the game. I'm running the games for the fun of it, not for trying to live on it ;-) (2) for information about what Blind Galaxy is, look at: http://www.myrnek.de/galaxy/ N E W B L I N D G A L A X Y G A M E S T A R T I N G S O O N ! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome galaxy players of all flavours and kinds, everyone is welcome to try their hands at this game, named Capricorn. Capricorn will be a "cluster type" game, which means that the map will be divided into several sub-galaxies, with a rather long distance between them. The point here is that first you will have to grow big in your own sub-galaxy, until there's only one alliance left, and this is the point where the real war is about to begin: the battle for control over the whole galaxy. The reasoning behind this is: normal galaxy games stop when you finally have arrived at a level of power that would be fun to compare to others in other galaxies. Here, in Capricorn, you'll just be doing that. Capricorn will allow alliance wins. That is: two random players, or as many players as win together from one sub-galaxy. Capricorn will run 2/week, on tuesdays and fridays. There will be one start home world of size 1000 resources 10 for each player; the game is in the flavour of Blind Galaxy, i.e. with no more information about the stars and races around you than what you have actually seen. Distance between home worlds is at least 30 LYs (which is enough if you don't know where the other races' home worlds are), there will be around 600 systems in total. Capricorn will also sport the one or other gimmick, like one (or more?) paradise system(s) - a system of great size, which are great if you have them settled, but woe if you lose them! - and experience for groups (example: a fighter that kills another ship gets better at shooting). Capricorn will start on Feb, 27, 2004. First orders due are on March, 2nd 2004. As always, I do not play in my own games, and am there for questions of all kinds (especially those concerning my games ...) and help for newbies. Please sign up as soon as you can to give me a picture of the size of the games.
