Clarification of how self-modifying games work From: donstockbauer@hotmail.com (Don Stockbauer) Date: Sat, 10 Apr 2004 11:04:37 +0000 Frank, at Larry's CSC party back in the '80s I didn't make clear how a self-modifying game works. See, you and Jackie were searching for a game to play and someone suggested "Twister", and then I suggested playing a SMG (since I had just read Hofstadter's epic " Gargoyles, Umpire, Bleech: A mid-evil statuary-baseball MAD magazine production" and I said it was a game where ewe could either make a move or change a rule on your turn (just like Real Life is played), and ewe trivialized it by saying "That's trivial!!! I just always declare myself to be the winner on my move" and ewe no wut Frank, I just didunt 1/2 the Wright Brothers answer (is there also paid association???). Butt now I've figured it out! U C, ewe would 1/2 2 1/2 an inviolable rule which states that "no one may declare themself the winner." Clear as beer urine. Sorry it took so long to figgure that out but I always was the slow one in our class. Also sorry about the unfortunate event which occured later at the party and your having to resign. I feel urine pain, Brother. Randy and Hector got me years later, but it was for the best, got to JOOTS and start doing some gud for wunst. Oh, whale, cornfession is good for the sole. Yall have a nice day, from the Nut Ranch. - Donsky Oatsky (PS - looking at the posts to this group, itz my intuition that spam will eventually bring the System down, if someone duzunt grow a backbone and do something about it). But then, no big deal, really, there are those around who can get by w/o the Web and from this nucleus repopulation will occur. Have a Nicene day). Up
