The Isles : Cutting Hope - New Players Wanted From: "Roy Pollard" <smith@thefeds.co.uk> Date: Fri, 02 Apr 2004 11:10:04 +0000 Hi All, After running for a few months, the new scenario for The Isles (fantasy, rpg/interactive fiction, hand mod, email/PDF) has space for a number of new players. The game is aimed at RPG PBM enthusiasts looking for a return to the old style of RPG PBMs from the mid to late 80s. The game places the player in a world where new technologys such as Flintlocks and Alchemy are slowly replacing Magic. Humanity has been driven to near-extinction by old enemies, and civilisation is guarded by strangers and Outcasts who work in secrecy for the four Guilds. The game begins for every new player with their player appearing skilless and bereft of anything but scant memories close to where they can begin their new lives. Rules are minimal ( read 'near non-existent'), although I have a large amount of game materials (in PDF format) to feed to people when they discover new aspects of the game world.
