New Blind Galaxy game starting. Newbies welcome! From: ted@convey.de (Bernhard Fr?hlich) Date: Tue, 19 Oct 2004 19:19:36 +0000 Announcing new Blind Galaxy Game Pallas Turns are run twice a week, Tuesdays and Fridays usually at 21:00 CE(S)T, Turn 0 will be sent out Tue Nov 2, if there are at least 20 players signed on. Every race has one home world of size 1000, separation between homeworlds is at least 25-30 Ly, the map is randomly generated as a Cluster game (see below). Alliance wins are allowed under the following circumstances: - All members of the alliance are from the same subgalaxy - Alliances with members of different subgalaxies may consist of 2 players if less than 20 players send in Turn 1 or 3 players otherwise. I do not play in my own games except maybe for NPC's (see below), so I'm open to questions and help for newbies. And of course, Newbies are very welcome! Pallas is a "cluster type game", i.e. its approx. 1000 Systems are divided into four subgalaxys. Distances between systems in a subgalaxy are the usual (typical around 10 Ly) while distances between subgalaxies are several 100 Ly. If there are orphaned races, i.e. if players quit or do not send in orders for at least 5 consecutive turns, I may give them orders as NPC's if I can find the time. Those orders will be defensive except that I may try to recapture recently lost systems. Players communicate using a double blind forwarder, so you can play anonymously if you like to do so. There are a few special features in Pallas, like experience and transporting of ships. To get more details send a mail with subject "help pallas" to galaxy@convey.de. Help about the gameserver's features will be sent to you if you request them by sending a mail with topic "help" to galaxy@convey.de. Generic Blind Galaxy rules can be requested by using the subject "help rules" or on http://www.cs.utk.edu/~bampton/blind.html. For questions or signups mail ted@convey.de Hope to see you, Ted ;) Up
