Rockets and Revolvers- a Firefly based PBEM From: aurelius451@yahoo.com (Chuck Thorne) Date: Fri, 19 Nov 2004 20:16:30 +0000 So here's how it is. The Earth got used up and humanity went into the verse. The worlds that got settled are out of one of those old-time science fiction books, full of tech and people that never have to wipe their own noses. The rest of use are out on the Rim on hundreds of worlds and living pretty rough. We have to get our hands dirty, deal with pirates, slavers and Reavers- those cannibal spacemen your parents told you about. Yup, they're real. A few years back, the Core worlds decided to unite everyone into their gorram Alliance. Some damn fools, like me, fought and lost. I'm Hadrian Marcus, captain of the Forlorn Hope'. She's a Firefly, a freighter. My crew and me wander about. Mainly in the Aurora system. We haul freight, carry the occasional passenger, and on occasion move goods without all the Alliance paperwork. They call it smuggling but we call it minding our own business. Sometimes we do salvage, sometimes we rob from the rich and sell to the poor. A few times we even did bounty work, but only for good people. We steer clear of the Alliance, live as free as we're able and keep hope alive. Forlorn Hope is a game based on the Firefly' series. It's sort of a SF-Western hybrid. Out on the Rim, tech is pretty low and law is usually maintained by the barrel of a gun. The crew of the Forlorn Hope' are a mixed lot, from a former Alliance doctor to a war criminal to a street kid who's good at making underground contacts. We're looking for some mercenary/gunslinger types, a mechanic, a pilot and any interesting civilian type. We'll take Companions, Shepherds, traders, anthropologists, bards or actors and pretty much anyone with money or skills we could use. The site http://forlorn-hope.warp0.com is still being worked on but the information you'll need is all there. Why not take a look? Up
