Description:

Middle Earth PBEM, called Crusaders of Middle Earth, is accepting players
who can commit to an RPG that emphasizes good writing and characterization
through roleplay.

-= The Environment =-
This game is 75% Traditional Rules based roleplay, and 25% Freeform. This
means that the players co-create the game but there is a definite Game
Master who handles the rules and who drives most of the plot. The writing
is expected to be 3rd person, past tense. With a rules system there is a
definition of both how things are done and how to resolve actions,
something that Freeform RPGs lack. The website has all the necessary
guidelines and most information for the character creation process. Game
play is done via a privately owned mailing list (this is not Yahoogroups
so there are no advertisements).

-= The Setting =-
The game starts off after the War of the Ring, at the dawn of the Fourth
Age. The place will be Minas Tirith. Eventually the PCs will head off to
Moria either on a mission for the Dwarves or for the new Grey Wizard
Alatar. Think you can do better than the Fellowship did in Moria? What
would you do in the search for the dwarven Crown of Seven Stars, knowing
full well that Moria is infested with Orcs? Would you combat or avoid
them? What of Alatar's quest - to close the doorway between worlds in
which the Balrog demon came through? Yet what other unknown horrors could
come through (or already have)?
