GURPS PBeM - anyone interested? From: diluthr@sdrc.UUCP (Dan Luther) Date: Wed, 10 May 1989 17:53:28 +0000 I'm planning on starting a small to medium sized play by e-mail game of GURPS (in a fantasy/medieval setting). I have lots of varied material to incorporate, and I'm pretty casual about the whole thing. The main objective will be for everyone involved (including myself) to have fun. To that end I will be pretty flexible about most everything. Number of players is still open. I'd like to give a lot of attention to each character, so it won't be too big (will depend on the level of interest). Speed of 'turns': I don't know yet. Could be slow or fast. What I'm thinking of may turn out not to be a 'turn' format at all. Characters: I'm pretty open. We'll talk NON-REQUIRMENTS: no previous GURPS experience required. (although experienced GURPS players are certainly welcome!) no previous fantasy experience required. REQUIRMENTS: *some* kind of role playing game experience an imagination!!! flexibility! willingness to play a game where combat is NOT the norm (see note) willingness to experiment, take a chance, laugh at yourself, and work with me to have a good time. I hope I've piqued your interest. Now here's the offer... Send me a note if you're interested, and we'll talk. We'll discuss what kind of game/scenario/character you are interested in, and some of the ideas I have in mind. I certainly won't take it personally or be offended if it doesn't work out. But you'll never know if you don't try! [NOTE: there will be combat and you most certainly will be able to get yourself killed. I tend towards PC/NPC interaction, using skills, problem solving, politics etc. I'm not saying I don't want 'fighter' types, but it will surely be a challenge to play one. >> talk to me, we'll see how it goes <<] Dan Luther uunet!sdrc!diluthr (513) 576-2452 (w) ===> signature in the shop for repairs Referenced By Up
