protested my "violation of the guidelines by your [my] not posting the
vote termination date" with my original call for votes.  Fair enough:
the vote will terminate on August 11th.  Any votes received by Athena
after 00:00:00.01 EST on the 12th will be ignored, whether I'm on
vacation at that time or not (I had thought to leave it open until I
came back).

Also, folks, *please* use the format I requested: The word "vote" and
one of (yes, no, pro, con) in the subject line of your message.  I'm
not case-sensitive, but I am labor-sensitive: I *REFUSE* to parse a
significant number of messages by hand.  I assure you it's much easier
for me to write a script to return bad votes than to keep fixing them;
I've alread hand-returned several, some of which I fixed as well, most
of which I didn't.  I'm sorry, but I'm simply not willing to invest
the time.

Finally, in the course of testing my script I overwrote the first vote
I received: would whoever who cast a "no" vote moments after the polls
opened please re-send it?  I apologize, but I hadn't expected such
prompt response and figured I could post and then run the test before
anything happened.  (Actually, I was suffiently certain that I didn't
even consider what would happen if an honest vote came in at that
time...)
