A runner comes in from outside, and shows a piece of paper to
the games referee (jkl@hpindwa.HP.COM).  He nods his head in
approval of the work of a local scribe.
He pays the runner, who checks the coin by trying to bite it.
Satisfied, he takes off for his next job.  Meanwhile, the games
referee posts these rules onto the bulletin board.

The following forms of entertainment are available in the Broad Axe Tavern.
All of the games are a form of gambling, with certain minimum bets. The
actual betting amount is agreed upon by the contestants.  Also, for those
PC's interested, side bets are always allowed, and must be sent to the
referee prior to the completion of the contest.  All contacts to the

Arm wrestling
-------------

There is a special table that is dedicated to arm-wrestling.  People can
challenge the current table champion, or set up a match with another
person in the Tavern.  Contact the referee (jkl@hpindwa.HP.COM) if you
are interested in competing.  Currently, there is a human and a dark-elf
engrossed in a match.  Talking with the referee is a tall, dark
man in rugged, travel-worn gear (dmonster%oak.decnet@pine.circa.ufl.edu).

Drinking Games
--------------

These games can be formed at any time, with no more than 10 participants
at any given time.  The game is to basically see who can drink the most.
If you are interested in participating in this game, contact
jkl@hpindwa.HP.COM. Note: most games will be run in the evening hours.

Darts
-----

There are two dart boards available in the Broad Axe Tavern.  Both
are currently not being used.  A contest of dart throwing takes
~10 minutes to complete.  If you are interested in playing darts,
please contact jkl@hpindwa.HP.COM.
