The Kaiser is, of course, a man of peace, and would rather direct his attentions away from France. But some actions make necessary extreme measures. So there. The following is an extract taken from the St. Petersburg Evening Standard:- "PEACE IN OUR TIME!" In an unexpected development, it has just been learned from the Tzar's press secretary at the Palace, that top secret talks at the highest levels have resulted in the signing of a peace accord between Our Great Country and the Island Nation of Japan. The signing took place at a private meeting between Tzar Ivan the Amiable and Father of all the Russias, and His Holiness, the Light of Heaven, Emperor Yamashido ten days ago in Vlodyvostok. The agreement makes ample provision for trade and commerce and guarantees joint access to the profitable trade routes of the South China Seas - hitherto the source of much of the friction between our two great realms. -THE DAILY ECLAIR- -Official newsrag of pastry lovers the world over- Emperor Felix XXXII of France villifies and scoffs at the aggressive actions taken by Imperial(istic) Germany, requiring stern defensive measures- The building of the Maginot line one world war too early. H.M. Felix XXXII invites the kaiser to sit down and eat an eclair in Paris, and talk away the entire problem. The Emperor is a man of peace. The following is an extract taken from the Sevastapol Daily News:- "DISTURBING RUMOURS" Strange sightings of large troop movements west of the border have been reported locally. The admiralty has admitted to being "perturbed" and has sent out a force into the Black Sea "with strict orders not to initiate hostilities in the event of a confrontation with a foreign power". The admiralty spokesman fiercely denied rumours of an imminent all-out war with Turkey. When pressed on the matter, he finally conceded "The worst we can expect is a minor border dispute with the Sultan of Vick." The following is an extract taken from the Moscow Mail:- "TZARINA IMPLICATED IN PALACE SEX PROBE" In a brief statement from the palace today, it has been disclosed that the Tzarina failed to come forward with vital information as to the whereabouts of Count Frederick von Stroheim, Austrian ambassador to the court of Tzar Ivan and suspected spy. Before the secret police could bring him in for questioning, he got word of his imminent demise and fled the country cunningly disguised as a bale of sable pelts. General Oreganov of the High Command has reported several key documents vital in the ongoing western conflagration as being "misplaced". Meanwhile, whisperings of a royal birth have not been denied by the Palace. The Tzar was unavailable for comment but it is believed he is to return shortly. Spumoni has been replaced by recently promoted General Alfredo Manicotti who, reportedly, knows where Syria is. After his promotion, the new commander of the second army was quoted as saying, "Manicotti, one 'n', one 'c', two 't's, got it?" It seems that ex-General Spumoni took his army to Egypt rather than Damascus. Spumoni's only comment was "Syria? I thought he said Suez! Didn't Marco Polo go to Suez too?" Spumoni has retired to Naples where he will open a gourmet pasta shop. -------------------------------- THE COSSACK'S GAZETTE -MOSCOW- Reports from the front in Silesia indicate that the troops there are anxious to join the partying in Berlin. Says General Ivan, "We only hope there is enough beer!" Meanwhile, here in the capital, the Czar is hopefully awaiting replies to anxious requests for support from the English. "We realize that they have needs of their own. But one thinks that they should sympathize with our troops' thirst for beer." The conquest of the Turks is welcomed by all in the Czar's domain. "Those nasty brutes!" said one Muscovite housewife. Their extermination is expected soon. As usual, relations with the Italians and Austrians are well. "Every soldier in Ankara is doing their utmost to help the Italian conquest of the southern Turks!" says General Sasha. The commmanders in Rumania and the Black Sea are enjoying their holiday in their newly conquered lands. ============================================================================ DRAGONSLAYER, COLD WAR, and JACAL not received. -Ted Fischer Up
