The vote-counter is I believe allowed to vote, but since there's been
what I suspect is an unusual amount of heat over the impartiality of
counters in general, and since I find myself in the awkward position
of seeing merit in both sides, I was planning to abstain, or use my
vote to replace the questionable one if it's retracted...

I did in fact get a vote from clong@topaz.rutgers.edu, but early on
the 12th: too late to be counted, since I'd earlier declared that
anything received after midnight would be ignored.  Sorry... if a vote
was sent significantly before that and what I saw was a re-send, then
I can count it.  The other two can also be counted if they send me
their own mail with the vote (I do need mail directly from them, even
though that's been demonstrated as a somewhat unreliable securtiy
check: it's in the rules), so long as they did send it on time.
However, it may be a good idea for Steve or someone to post the fact
of the correction, although I'm not sure what the rules about that
are... but I assume some no's also failed to get through.

I can't think of too much in the way of alternate addresses to suggest
if fabbott@athena.mit.edu failed... you might try
athena!fabbott@garp.mit.edu, but if you can reach garp I've no idea
why you couldn't reach athena...
