Berlin (AP) -- In a last ditch effort to stop the Italian onslaught, the New German Leader Fukui 1 ordered all bowling lanes in Germany to be destroyed. This order came about when a commanding general in the German army (with Italian heritage) ordered the disbanding of the entire Berlin army. This left the entire area defenseless for an Italian invasion. However, it is times like this that hero's come about. Admiral John T. Hooker of the North Sea Fleet was ordered to disband his fleet. Seeing the immediate danger of doing so, he refused the order and went about his daily routines. Fukui 1 has stated, "We owe the safety of our northern seaboard to this courageous man." INTEGRITY OF ITALIAN SAUSAGE RESTORED; EMERGENCY SHIPMENTS PLANNED Venice (Rueters) -- The Italian government has finally gained control over the evil French and German factories where the FAKE ITALIAN SAUSAGE was being produced and distributed. We have full confidence that all sausage you will find in the markets will be the *real thing*. With the recent Italian occupation of France and Germany it is unlikely that such a mishap will occur again in the near future. The King has been made aware of the poor conditions that the French and German leaders have left their people and has decided that shipments of Italian Sausage to these two countries will begin immediately. IT BLOWED UP REAL GOOD! Silesia (AP) -- It appears that the Czar was again fooled by German sabatours when, at the Greater Silesia Open Bowling Tournament, his recently recovered bowling ball exploded right in the Czars face the very first time he placed it in play. The now hairless Czar was beside himself with rage and vowed vengance on those responsible. "I can understand they invade my country. But to blow up a mans prize ball? Is nothing beyond those barbarians?" The Czars Italian Valet maintained a bit more of a sense of humor over the whole thing. "EE loooks like, ow do you say? Ze Curly Joe?" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Paul's Notes: This turn is out 24 hours late due to a mixup in the orders with Germany -- if some of you were scratching your heads over his Winter '05 disbands, Rod apparently sent in the wrong piece of mail to me and so we had to take time out to figure out what had happened, but no bit deal otherwise. (All the more reason to stress double-checking orders before you send them in, though) Anyway, things are going well otherwise as events seem to be moving right along... No retreats/disbands, so Fall '06 will be due next Sunday, September 3rd -- REMEMBER: I am moving to school this Wednesday and so my addresses/ phone number will be shifting accordingly. I'll set up forwarding on my duke account, but I'd prefer getting mail directly at yalevm. Thanks! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Paul Vick |Internet: pav@romeo.cs.duke.edu "Of course I'm being childish!
