Diplomacy zine --- The Lost Issue From: daybell@sal-sun43.usc.edu (Donald Daybell) Date: Fri, 18 Aug 1989 01:35:34 +0000 issue 89 of ELECTRONIC PROTOCOL ----------- Chapter One ----------- This chapter contains results for the games D-DAY, NAVARONE, BLITZKRIEG, OPERATION OVERLORD, GETTYSBURG, and HMS HOOD Having been informed in no uncertain terms that skipping issues is a THING NOT TO BE DONE!! Here is issue 89. Somewhere along the line, I lost track of the correct issue #. As it turned out, I got new stuff for three of my games right after stating that nothing had come in! Fall 1905 of game D-DAY (BNC 1989AW) (GM is Pav@cs.duke.edu/ Paul Vick) Not Received Spring 1905 of game NAVARONE (BNC 1989AX) (GM is pwoodruff@orion.cf.uci.edu/ Peter Woodruff) Next orders due Aug 21. Hopefully that will give you plenty of time negotiation and for schmoozing in the sun, as well as clearing up commuinca- tions problems and so on. Talk to you in two and a half weeks. Fall 1903 of game BLITZKRIEG (BNC 1989HL) (GM is dougi@astro.as.utexas.edu/ Doug Ingram) Fall 1903 due August 20, 1989 Fall 1903 of game OPERATION OVERLORD (BNC 1989HM) (GM is davisje@crd.ge.com/ Jon Davis) In the practical art of war, the best thing of all is to take an enemy's country whole and intact; to shatter and destroy it is not so good. So, too, it is better to capture an army entire than to destroy it, to capture a regiment, a detachment or a company entire than to destroy it. Hence to fight and conquer in all your battles is not supreme excellence; supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy's resistance without fighting. - Sun Tzu AUSTRIA CRUSHED BY RUSSIAN-TURKISH PINCER ATTACK! One person didn't get the Fall results until Thursday (They went out Monday night!) One person's Fall orders spent 14 hours travelling through the system! One person sent his builds on Monday, and they never made it! It even got me, sort of. I lost one person's builds after he had sent them to me, on Monday no less! Well, I won't keep you any longer. Here are the 1901 builds: Supply Center Count 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 Turkey 4 Ank, Smy, Con, Bul Russia 6 Mos, War, Sev, St.P, Swe, Rum England 4 Lvp, Lon, Edi, Nwy Germany 4 Mun, Ber, Kie, Den Italy 4 Ven, Nap, Rom, Tun Austria 5 Bud, Vie, Tri, Ser, Gre France 5 Par, Mar, Bre, Spa, Por Unowned 2 Bel, Hol Builds Turkey F Smy Russia A War, A St.P Austria F Tri, A Vie Italy A Ven France F Bre, A Par England F Lon Germany A Kiel Spring 1902 is due Sunday, August 20 at midnight EST _______________________________________________________________________________ Press: All press from the GM will be under the "Daily Dirk" byline.
