Broad Axe Tavern's Re: Handling large amounts of money!! From: gabai@paul.rutgers.edu (Steven Gabai) Date: Sat, 07 Oct 1989 11:23:41 +0000 Hopefully, the editing I did to the Subject: line will work correctly :-) While we'll on the subject, I'll post what I've been assuming for the monetary system used in our PBeM FRPG partially on-line game: building from AD&Dv1's standard: 1gp = 2ep = 20sp = 200cp & 1 platinum piece=5gp There's mithral and adamantite, for arguement's sake, I'll assume 10gp and 100gp respectively. After this, I've posed the "bank note" proposition to the meta-players, so this is still under discussion. Possible ways of protecting against forgeries is to use: - special paper, and wax seals, etc. - special blessings from appropriate clerics cast on the bank note - a chain of banks, or other professional institution Together, this should handle the larger transactions of wealthy nobles, merchants, miscellaneous organizations, etc. (and those "greedy little money-grubbing PCs" 8^) have fun Steven the mmmPC Referenced By Up
