Getting Started....Please? From: stevenr@cs.hw.ac.uk (Steven P. Firstly, let me stress that I am, by no means, an experienced PBM'er - only involved in two conventional games at present. The first, I have been playing now for over 2 years, a hand-moderated fantasy that goes by the name of 'AEs'. Taken off the commercial circuit a year ago, the two dedicated GM's have continued to run the game as a hobby for a few lucky souls - myself included. The second is 'Earthwood' by KJC, of which I have only just started and am still finding my feet as it were. I would be interested to hear of any views on the above, especially any hints on the latter. Now I must confess to being a mite intrigued as regards the concept of PBM over email. Basically, it would be hugely appreciated if some kind adventurer out there would explain how conventional and email PBM differ ie. Genre's, joining, costs, turnaround, player-number limitations etc. Are American-based games strictly that, or are limeys welcome? Steve Roberts Up
