Said the minister, "There has always been much speculation that Roman culture is directly descended from Athenian culture as described by Virgil in the 'Aneid' but no direct evidence to support this myth has ever been found. We hope to uncover artifacts that would directly link the two cultures such as tools, weapons, pottery, pasta makers or Gucci handbags." The minister also mentioned that this expedition will pioneer a new, more efficient technique for extracting buried artifacts that will involve heavy artillery instead of the traditional pick and shovel. "We will be using 5 batteries of heavy artillery as well as offshore bombardment by the Third and Fourth Navies to facilitate digging for relics. By the obsolete method of shoveling and screening the dirt, archeologists could dig at most a few square meters on a day. With our new method we can excavate several square miles in an afternoon, a significant improvement I'd say". The minister had no comment when asked about the difficulty in restoring artifacts after they had been extracted by this new method. =============================================================================== TRENCHFOOT: Winter 1903 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BUILDS England: 2 A Edi, F Lon Italy: 1 F Nap POSITIONS England: 6 A Edi F StN Hol Nws Nwy Lon France: 6 A Bur Bel Mar Ruh Par F Pic Germany: 5 A Kie Boh Mun F Hel Nts Italy: 7 A Ser Alb Tyr F Gre Ion Tys Nap Russia: 6 A Rum War Fin Mos F Bla Swe Turkey: 4 A Con Arm F Aeg BuE =============================================================================== Cheers!
