Shadowrun PBeM starting From: cdr@amdcad.AMD.COM (Carl Rigney) Date: Sat, 28 Oct 1989 01:40:36 +0000 I'm planning to run a Shadowrun PBeM campaign, set in the same campaign as my weekly in-person campaign. If you're interested, mail me, and once I'm sure we have a good mail connection I can provide more information and we can discuss your character. My intent is to provide more depth for my campaign, gain numerous interesting NPCs, and show you a good time. I vastly prefer if you have access to a Shadowrun rulebook so I won't have to explain everything, but if you don't then we might be able to work something out with you explaining your character to me and me crunching the numbers. Note that my campaign has differences from the one in the rulebook, but the general idea is the same and I'll provide more detailed background and history in the introductory notes. It's set in 2039 in Seattle. Good ideas for characters are Corporate action teams, Gangs, Old Yakuza, New Yakuza, LA Gangs moving northward, Screemsheet scopers, Braindancers, Razorslime, Crystaljocks or anything else that sounds good. Generally, characters who have links to some power faction or another are good for PBM, because then you can play mastermind behind the scenes. Its a very good idea to have more breadth than just combat, because combat goes very slow in PBM and so there's rarely much of it on camera. If you just want a bit part, that's fine too - less action but also less work involved in keeping up. And remember the 4 Laws of Cyberpunk: 1. Style over substance 2. Attitude is everything 3.
