[Game report <supply centers, builds, debuilds, and positions> going out after this. I'm breaking into 2 parts to keep the size down. --ckd] Press: ------ AUSTRIA OUT! BURGUNDY, NORWAY, SWEDEN CHANGE HANDS YET AGAIN! ENGLISH CHANNEL SEES ENGLISH FLEET! FUN STUFF IN THE ELVIS-O-RAMA! BOSTON (GM) - Austria's last supply center fell to the onrushin' Russians this fall, eliminating the first power this century. Burgundy was taken over by a massive panzer strike from the Ruhr, assisted by British elements in Belgium. The Royal Navy also moved into the English Channel, making it more and more likely that France will be gone next. In other news, the Russians have reclaimed the Vienna Elvis Museum and are rumored to be teaching the new People's Boy's Choir how to sing "Love Me Tender." In Russian, mind you. ------ Turkey: The Ionian Sea exercise went well. An Italian battle group in the area looked us over but then decided to depart the area. The accompaning fishing fleet was very successfull as well. ------ Rome (AP) - The Pope today denied allegations that the Italian fleet has been harassing Turkish fishing boats. "Where would they find the time?", he said, "I've been keeping them busy with the ferry run from Apulia to Tunis." Informed sources claim that the Turks will attempt to disrupt this peaceful activity in a violent attack this Fall. We mourn for their souls, and repeat: "The weak will inherit the Earth." ------ PARIS (UPI): The mood in the city is bleak. Reports of a world alliance against a nation that has never set foot on the home soil of a foreign power have been met with resignation. Bookstores report that sales of Russian and Turkish language textbooks have skyrocketed. Correspondents onboard French fleets report that a top secret directive, operation IRELAND, has been issued. Sources indicate that this directive is intended for use only when the demise of the nation is imminent. Theorizing that Germany was going to hit us anyway, this directive calls for an "alpha strike" against the forces of his major ally, intended to take that ally out of the war simultaneously. Supposedly, the only method of recalling this order is the prompt end of aggressive action by the enemy power. (This is as opposed to operation SICILY, which won't be needed) ------ Sardinia (Reuters) -- The Italian governor of Sardinia was disappointed that the German attack on Marseilles failed. "The French have landed commando troops on Corsica in preparation for an assault on Sardinia, we needed a German victory to prevent the attack. I hope the Germans continue to attack Marseilles so that the Frogs will be too busy to invade defenseless Sardinia," he said. The British Consul in Sardinia agreed with the governor, "A continued German assault on Marseilles will comply with the Italo-German treaty and can only mean a quicker end to the war against France." The French Ambassador to Italy was unavailable for comment since he had been deported a year ago. [this was submitted as conditional press. since I lost not one but TWO... count 'em TWO seasons of English press... I felt it was only fair to let him get this conditional press in *with* the results rather than the turn afterwards. --ckd] ------ PRAVDA (Moskva) Repeating Stalin's famous question, "How many divisions has the pope?", the Soviet General Staff today predicted the complete destruction of Italian armed forces by the end of 1905. "With Turkish control of the Ionian, the elite Albanian marines are assured of capturing Apulia with German or Russian aid from Venice. Once Apulia is held, the rest of the penninsula can be mopped up within a year." The Comrade General Secratary applauded the aura of trust in the Balkans that led to the de-militarization of the Black Sea. "The Soviet Union is awaiting any further suggestions from the Sultan about further arms reductions in the Balkans. Surely the Balkans can be policed by only 2 units of each side? As a further step of assuring mutual cooperation, no armed forces will be built in Sevastopol until further notice. We hope that a similar policy will be implemented by the Ottoman Empire with respect to Ankara and Constantinople." The long-awaited Russian-Turkish-German dictionary was published this week in preparation for the combined military operations in Italy and other Mediterranean coastal provinces. This educational effort is another example of the advanced techniques of Soviet geo-political planning, since the situation in Europe after the destruction of the corrupt papal regime must be considered. The Ministry of Mines and Natural Resources released its report of ore resources in France and the Low countries. In summary, the analysis indicates that the continental mines are considerably richer than Scandinavian ones and that the Norwegian ore transportation network should be abandoned within 2 years. ------ Christopher Davis, BU SMG '90 <ckd@bu-pub.bu.edu> <smghy6c@buacca.bitnet> "Technology is dominated by those who manage what they do not understand."
