WSGB #1 Diplomacy COCHRANE - Summer '03 From: ckd@bu-pub.bu.edu (Christopher K Davis) Date: Wed, 25 Oct 1989 14:54:04 +0000 WSGB Diplomacy #1 - COCHRANE Summer '03 I extended the deadline, and everyone that sent anything had stuff in by midnight anyway... oh well... RESULTS: German A Burgundy retreats to Ruhr. Austrian A Budapest retreats to Vienna. Fall '03 due at 11:59 pm EDT. I've already gotten in a bunch of moves for fall; I still need them from Austria, England, France, and Russia. PRESS: ------ German leaders congratulated the British and Italian allies on their successful campaigns against French villainy worldwide. It is believed that elements of the Kriegsmarine, currently stationed in Holland, will be deployed to support the British peacekeeping force which has returned King Leopold to his rightful throne. German forces were forced to withdraw from French soil under heavy fire, but vowed to return from the Ruhr in the Fall, perhaps with British support. "And this time we'll get it right!!" ------ London (Reuters) - His Majesty the Prime Minister was gladdened by the reinstatement of King Leopold in Belgium last week. His Majesty was quoted as saying, "Now, we can finally expunge Europe of the French menace. The BEF has extremely high morale and is ready to support a German offensive in Burgundy." Lord Hill, the commander of the BEF, spoke at Brussels to the press yesterday and said, "We are only waiting for the code word, then we can roast some Frog legs." [see? I didn't lose it this year! -ckd] ------ Sardinia (Reuters) - The Italian governor of Sardinia was overjoyed by the prospect of a German invasion of Marseilles. "The Italians have a right to Corsican grapes, and when the Germans attack Marseille, we can just walk right in," he said. The English Ambassador visited Sardinia today and was in full agreement with the governor. "Just one more place we can destroy France," he said. ------ Turkey: Turkey to exercise its right of passage in the Mediterranean this fall. Italy has been constantly harrassing our fishing fleets and enough is enough. We anticipate having a flotilla in the Ionian this fall with future excursions depending on fleet availability. We anticipate a much improved fishing revenue with access to these fertile waters. The Turkish ambassador to Russia will be attending the cerimonies celebrating the liberation of Austria from its corrupt government. The few remaining goverment units are expected to surrender shortly. ------ -- Christopher Davis, BU SMG '90 <ckd@bu-pub.bu.edu> <smghy6c@buacca.bitnet> "Technology is dominated by those who manage what they do not understand."
