Stellar Wars PBeM Game 2 Organizing From: allen@codon1.berkeley.edu Date: Tue, 23 Jan 1990 20:09:13 +0000 Remember the Stellar Wars tactical space game posted as a freeware wargame last summer? A PBeM game of a simultaneous movement variant is drawing to a close. Now we're organizing a second game. The first game was played initially by fourteen people divided up into two fleets, the Klingons and the Terrans, with ships and fleets designed to meet point totals specified by a referee. I reffed the first game and one of us from the first game will ref game 2. Attrition has taken its toll on players as well as ships so we'll have some room for new players. Send me e-mail if you would like to play. The game has a planned turn around rate of approximately a week for each side to discuss plans and for captains to submit their orders. Then it usually takes up to a week for the ref to resolve movement, detection, and combat and type up turn reports for each side. These schedules have slid in the past, so expect a turn approximately every two to three weeks. A game will probably last around eight to ten turns. There will probably be about a month spent getting fleets organized and rules revised to deal with problems discovered in game one with moves starting in late February or early March.
