(Russia should send me a conditional build.) ----- PRESS: Geneva: Italy has come off as the big winner this year getting 3 builds. Germany surrendered after the battles of Kiel and Berlin, both of which it lost. Italy's defense in the South, with timely support from Turkey, managed to stunt the Russian giant's growth. However, the damage had been done; Turkey lost two supply centers, which the Italians picked up. Between the pincers of the French and Russian marines, England looked like it was going to retire, but the Russians left Edinburgh open for a retreat. It is expected that the English will retreat to Edinburgh and make a heroic stand to the last man against the foreign invaders. No other press items reached the telegraph office here in Geneva. =============================================================================== COLD WAR: BNC #1989HY Retreats Summer 1907: Germany retreats to Baltic Sea. Italy retreats to Aegean Sea. =============================================================================== BISMARCK -- WINTER 1905 RETREAT: English F Liv retreats to Wal. ----- BUILDS: England: Disbands F Wal France: Builds F Bre Germany: Disbands A Pru Italy: Builds A Ven, A Nap, F Rom Russia: Builds A Sev, A War Turkey: Disbands F Eme ----- UNIT POSITIONS: England: ELIMINATED France: A Bel Hol Kie F Bre Ech Iri Liv Mao SpaS Germany: ELIMINATED Italy: A Ber Mun Nap Ser Tri Ven Vie F Buls Gre Ion Rom Russia: A Bud Gal Rum Sev Yor War F Bla Den Lon Nao Nth Turkey: A Ank Con F Smy ----- PRESS: Geneva: A near-sighted military observer mistook the province of Clyde for the city of Edinburgh. Thus, the English could not capture Edinburgh from the Russians and so were forced to surrender. Only four major powers remain alive and at war. Will Italy continue its southward push? Can Turkey defend itself? How will France and Russia divide up Great Britain? Can anyone gain control of Europe? =============================================================================== That's all for this issue. It's been slow with the holidays. Cheers!
