Diplomacy Chapter 3, errors fixed and new moves posted! From: xcbe12a@ucrmath.ucr.edu (wayne wallace) Date: Mon, 12 Feb 1990 08:39:32 +0000 Well, sorry it's been so long (8 days) since my last post, but GOD (my CS teacher) spake to me: thou shalt write a program and procrastinate till the last minute and then spend 16 hours straight in the terminal room writing it. and so I did, and so the moves were late. This chapter 3(?) (i think) of ELECTRONIC PROTOCOL #15424526528752576287264 has a repost of the Fall 1904 moves for Dawn Patrol. I think I'll let Mr. Sinhaa explain himself and then you can thrill to seeing the corrected posting and also at the bottom of this missive the Spring 1907 move of Tannenburg 1989HZ. I forget the # for Dawn Patrol, but you can prolly find it on my earlier posting about 50 articles back or so. Y'know, I'm still waiting for anyone to send me email as to whether they like this break in format or not. Ah well, at least, if ya "wanna join the fun here at Electronic Protocol" you can mail to: Eric_S_Klien@cup.portal.com and he'll try to get you in a game. well, it's past my bedtime, so I'll be moseying off to beddy-bye, go ahead and send email tho. Oh yeah, I signed up with Portal (Sunday) today, so come the morning or so, I'll have a new email address for you to send your gripes to. Thassall from "The Magnificent Lord Zar". A message from the GM of Dawn Patrol himself, Anand Sinhaa!: Hehehe.. <slight chagrinned look on face> I made a slight error with Germany's moves.>>>>Fall 1904<<<<<< Germany had ordered SKA-SWE not DEN - SWE as I reported. GAME NOTES: I received at least one "Yes" vote and no "No" votes on the proposal for an R/T draw. In theory this is enough to pass the draw, but at least one player failed to vote. My houserules say that in such cases any one of you may veto the draw by notifying me by the next deadline that you wish to do so. For this reason you should all submit orders for Fall, 1907 to be used if a veto is received. The deadline for draw vetoes and Fall moves is ***Sunday, February 11 at 10PM EST***. If I receive a veto, the game will continue on schedule. Otherwise the game will be over and the Fall moves will not be used. PRESS: >From the San Francisco Examiner: --Moscow The Russian Machine continues to roll over Europe, although Russian leaders have talked with their close allies to the South, resulting in a proposal to end the war with Russia and Turkey the victors, they are skeptical as to whether or not leaders of other countries will give their surrender. "We are hoping we can discontinue this bloody conflict, but our forces will not pull back until the end is official," said Chenko Chenkov, Russia's chief military advisor. When asked which country concerned Russian leaders the most with respect to refusing surrender Chenkov replied, "Germany, they started this whole war in the first place with their stupid cooking contests. We are offering them peace, but we don't expect their cooperation." We also spoke with Akmed Hakimi, a Turkish General overseeing the recently successful Austrian campaign, about his views on the European war which is now almost ten years old. "Well, I think we could have prolonged this war quite a bit longer," he said. "I think our leaders should have continued to crush the western scum." When asked what he would do if the war was put to an end, he replied that he would like to open his own bakery in Munich. Watch for our next report when we will interview leaders from the losing side of the ongoing war in Europe. GM-Readers: And now, presenting an opposing point of view: Germany: ------- The Kaiser wishes to express his utter disgust at the power-mad Russia empire, and personally would like all of the Russian peoples to throw eggs at any Russian military units. Furthermore the Kaiser, having taken the matter into his own hands, has shot everyone even remotely affiliated with the German Mail System, and is merely waiting for me to complete this communique before he shoots me, as well. The re-structuring of the mail system has led to a new way of getting a hold of Gerrmany, namely via krywolt@hg.uleth.ca. The Kaiser would appreciate any mail being sent to here, as a) if it is sent to the old address, the Kaiser will not receive it, and b) if you do not, he will most likely shoot you as well.
