Winter '16 of the game ENTENTE (MNC number 1989IJrv17) (1914 variant, GM is matt@oddjob.uchicago.edu/Matt Crawford) Date: Sat, 24-Mar-90 18:03:36 PST Here is the end game report (got info from Augie Kuo): #21 ENTENTE - 1914 game 1989IJrv17 - ELECTRONIC PROTOCOL (Matt Crawford) 14 15 16 -------- A: 7 8 9 Augie Kuo (WIN S'16) E: 5 5 6 Larry Hardouin (surv S'16) F: 3 4 4 Bruce Roberson (surv S'16) G: 5 5 5 Tom Tedrick (surv S'16) R: 4 3 2 Barry T. Fausnaugh (surv S'16) And if you want it, following is a complete report on the game: Everyone has agreed to let the turn be done early, so here it is. Fall 1914 will be due as originally scheduled: Sunday, 30 September. Of course, if everyone allows it, we may be early again and eventually gain a whole week on the schedule. In Winter 1915 you will need to trace supply lines from outlying supply centers in order to collect the income from them, and from units in order to keep them on the board. You will have the opportunity to permit other countries to trace supply lines through your centers and units or those of your minor country either by granting that permission explicitly or by entering into a bilateral alliance. (Note that an alliance carries with it permission to trace supply lines in two successive winters.) It's too close to Sunday to expect to jump a whole week on the schedule, but if everyone includes another "no need to wait for the deadline" in their Winter orders, we'll see what we can do. No country had any trouble tracing supply lines to centers to collect the income, but the English fleet in the Tyrrhenian will be out of supply unless some country or combination of countries permits a supply line. In your Winter orders, you may include some or all of the following actions. Spend SP to maintain some or all of your existing units Spend SP to build units (ONLY if you maintain ALL existing units) Spend SP as PF Give away up to 20% of your total SP (minors may not give away SP) Permit another country to trace supply lines through your units & centers Declare an alliance - if it is bilateral, neither party may capture the other's centers during the coming year even if occupying them. Also, permission to trace supply lines is automatic this Winter and next. He had submitted 6 orders for 7 units with one implicit order. I must have overread his order for A Ser. The original Italian player whose place had been taken over by Eric Mullins sent me the following message: >GM: > >Do you realize what happened while I was away? My replacement did not receive >*any* diplomacy from any other player except France even though he sent >messages to five of them. When I returned, I found messages in my mail from >several players, as if they did not know I was away for the week. In fact, >Austria asked for my OK on a "deal" offered by my replacement, but my >replacement never sent *anything* to Austria. What kind of bullshit is this? >mNeedless to say, I am rather peeved, and wouldn't mind a bit if you chastised >them for their behavior (at your discretion). Although I have lost virtually >all interest in this game, I will continue to turn in my orders until I am >eliminated, hopefully by the end of 1904. > >Jean-Paul Davis >King of Italy > My opinion is that it is not my task to see if all players have understood all messages correctly and act accordingly, certainly not after moves have been played.
