If you succeeded in taking Berlin in spite of my support, oh well. I hope you set up for a Warsaw attack instead of wasting your time with Berlin. Rome - Paris: You can go ahead and start moving East with that fleet. You have been a good ally so far, and I trust your fleet in my home waters far more than a Turkish fleet. Spain and then Western Med is fine. Send the martinis ahead by transport, as the troops morale is lowered without them. Rome - Vienna: May the best bartender win! Rome - Const: Wait wait wait . . . ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Turkey -> Austria: Move War - Mos next turn if you can, I will support you if England doesn't voluntarily move out. If you want, you can move Gal - Sil whenever you can and I can move Rum - Gal to help you out. Turkey -> France: looks like you won't get much of Germany. I will help you out against England if you're willing and I won't attack Italy. Turkey -> Italy: I'm willing to help out against England and not attack you if you do the same thing. You could use Munich to support French units for example. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Austria - Turkey: Italy sure makes it sound good, right? Attack Austria or you lose to France(Italy)/England. Explain to me how that works again? I see anyone on Italy's side losing to France/England. Unless we take Italy before France does. Then France is the next target, not you. Of course, your taking Rumania and building an army in Constantinople would indicate that you don't believe I need to survive. Don't kid yourself. Once I'm gone, Italy will follow. You'll suggest a three-way tie (the GM will endorse it :-) and France/England will laugh while moving in for the kill. Perhaps if England had built fleets this turn I'd believe he would ally with you once I am out. But armies can only mean a land attack in the east. France is already starting to build up his Med fleet. Austria - England: May I have Moscow back? Austria - Italy: Quit feeding Turkey so much garbage. Even I'm starting to believe it. I'd start protecting my back if I were you. I should know. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- England -> world: Yes, the army is the Home Guard. Perhaps the rest of you must always attack to be happy, but I do not. I am quite content to sit here and await the end-game and to, hopefully, share in the victory. I will be happy to settle for a joint victory with any of you. England -> France: Once again, thanks for the message last Fall. I will move the fleet in Helgoland to Denmark in the Fall. Will you agree to move Ruhr to Burgundy in the Fall, too? Let me know in the Summer Press. As for a 4-way draw, I am agreeable to it, but it sounds like Turkey may not be if he is one of the four. As for your southern fleet, please do not move it to Spain(sc) and then Wes. My fleets are moving away from you. If my building of 2 armies this past winter is not proof enough of my sincerity, what is? Not to mention, Italy has already mentioned ceding land to you. Please, put your 2 fleets in Wes and Tyrrhenian. That way, if you are still worried about me, your fleet is still adjacent to MAO, but your fleets are also set up to guard against an Eastern invasion. After I get my armies set up in Kie and Ber, then it's time to wait for the East to settle out and see if a 3 or 4-way draw works out with whoever is left. England -> Austria: Moscow is yours. Depending on how the Spring move results look, I will move Livonia to either St. Pete or Prussia (to protect the Berlin/Kiel supply centers). England -> Italy: I am willing to go for a 3-way draw with you and France. If you can get the French fleets to sail East to help you, I will keep my fleets far away from the French coast. If your country is conquered by Austria/Turkey, I would like to get a French army into Munich. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Paris - London: Looks good so far...Keep it up and we'll have a wonderful alliance. Paris - Rome: Just let me know when... =============================================================================== VERSAILLES: Summer 1905 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RETREATS Austria: A Tri - Bud POSITIONS Austria: 5 A War Ser Bud Gal Vie England: 9 A Mos Kie Den Nwy Edi F Nts Bal Hel Nwg France: 7 A Ruh Bel Bur Hol Pic F Bre SpS Germany: 1 A Ber Italy: 6 A Boh Mun Tyr Tri F Gre Alb Turkey: 6 A Rum Bul Sev F Aeg Bla Smy PRESS: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Austria - Turkey: I'll cut Albania's support for Greece and you may take it from either direction. I'd appreciate support into Moscow in case my attempted move to Livonia has upset the English. I thought getting him upset was a better risk that getting you upset by a move to Ukraina. Note that helping me retake Moscow will not give me a build so it does nothing to threaten your position. The bottom line is that my future is still in your hands; I feel we are stronger against the west than are you and Italy. In fact, the more I look at the map, the more it looks like Italy *is* the west. Austria - England: May I (still) have Moscow back? You have Berlin surrounded so I didn't see why you needed to send another army toward Warsaw. You should try to figure out why Italy did what he did. Maybe he has had too much to drink. Thanks for your last press. Suggesting a three way draw with France and Italy should convince Turkey where his friend (not plural) lives. Austria - World: I can't wait to see who stabs where next. France, where is your next center? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rome-London: A very interesting turn. My action with regard to Berlin will be determined by this bunch of press. If France is willing, then you can take Berlin in spite of my support, so I am just giving France a little leverage. I expect he will make his desires known in this press. If you want a joint win, there should be any problem holding off on the conquest of Berlin anyway. Rome-Paris: I will use Munich to support your interests in whatever manner you would like. Come on ahead into the Western Med. Rome-Turkey: I don't think that England is my primary concern right now. We can disembowel Austria this Fall if you take Serbia, and I take Vienna. He would then have 2 centers. I cannot even consider attacking England while you and Austria are breathing down my neck like this. He really can't stop us from doing this. He has to assume that you will not attack, and try to retake Trieste. Then he cannot defend Serbia, so you can take it. Which means that Vienna falls and Trieste holds. If he defends Serbia, he is giving up, as I will then get Vienna and Trieste. Also note that if you head west into the Med, there will be a French fleet there, and it can bounce you out of Tunis. I should get a build to keep you out of the Tryhennian. So your best bet is definitely with the Austrian attack this Fall. You have already regained a lot of ground in this game, thanks to my attack on Austria. As far as England goes, he seems honest enough, and if he goes for a win, then you and France and I could stop him. If he will really go for a 4 way draw then we should take him up on it ASAP. France, England, and I have all expressed an interest in this option so it is up to you. I will freely give you Greece in the Spring, if you attack Austria this Fall. If you go for Greece instead of Serbia, then our little 3 way war will continue to drag on without a resolution, making it impossible for us to work together in the event of English aggression. Rome-Vienna: CHAAAAARRRRRRGE - that didn't work last time, but I yelled it louder this ttime. By the way, I am watching my back. I see a very nice country with very good wine and beautiful women, much like my own country. What is there to fear? Oh yeah, the martinis are deadly. Watch out for those if you ever visit. Rome-GM: can I really have an army in Budapest? :-) [GM: sure, just sign here, don't mind the fine print] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Paris - London: Sorry if the moves seems like they are going against you, they are not. You don't want me to move into W.Med and so I wont. I'll be heading into GoL, then Tyrr.S. As I've said before, I'll move out of Ruhr when the other three fleets are at least 1 territory away from North Sea. You plan on moving F Hel.B. to Denmark, sounds great. Follow it up with a move to Sweden or Baltic Sea and my army is history. I realize that you have been a trusted ally, but the fact that you refuse to attack Austria or Turkey does make me suspicious. You said in your press, that you're happy to just sit and watch the developments in the South, ok with me, but it still makes me causious. As far as moving my fleets south because Italy is sceding his territory to me, I think that was in the event that Turkey and Austria are to ally against him. As you can see by last move and press, that might not be necessary. BTW, I hope you read Turkish press last turn (I am sure you did)..It might seem that you will have to change your Quaker position by force..I think the press tells you who your friends are... Paris - Rome: The martinis are on the way thru the Swiss Alps. The fleet is coming. I appreciate the trust..You won't be disappointed. Now that you got one of Austrian centers back, any way I could convince you to let me have Munich - assuming of course that Austria doesn't get it back. I'll understand if you don't let me have it and I'll still continue to support you anywhere in the world. Paris - Constantinople: You're not serious about supporting Austria into Moscow are you? I/We would appreciate it if you stopped writing contradictory press. In one you're agreeing not to attack Italy and/or France depending on who helps you against England. 1) I would like to know how you're planning on attacking me? 2) Austria is right for the picking 3) Neither, I, nor England, and I am sure you or Italy are against a 4 way draw. So what do you say we finish off Austria and go home. Martinis for everyone in my house!!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- England -> France: The next move is yours. I would still like to move Hel - Den if you would convince Italy to let me have Berlin. England -> Austria: Moscow is yours. What was the move to Livonia for? I have never attacked you, yet you move north while Italy eats you for lunch?? Move A Ser - Alb in the Fall so Turkey can get Greece. England -> Turkey: Move Smyrna to Eastern Med... Also attack Greece from Bul and Aeg and it's yours. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Turkey -> Austria: You should be able to take Trieste back, you have enough if you retreat to Budapest. Moscow is guaranteed for you even if England doesn't move to Livonia this turn. Sev S War - Mos Turkey -> Italy/France: I suppose Italy's move of supporting Berlin is going in the right direction. =============================================================================== VERSAILLES: Fall 1905 ---England----------------------------------Turkey----------------------------- A Mos - LVN |A RUM S (A Bul H) A KIE S (A Den - Ber) CUT (Ruh) |A BUL S (F Aeg - Gre) A DEN - Ber FAIL |A SEV S AUS (A War - Mos) A Nwy - STP |F Aeg - GRE A EDI H |F Bla - CON F NTS H |F Smy - EME F BAL C (A Den - Ber) |---Austria---------------------------- F HEL S (A Kie H) |A War - MOS F Nwg - NWY |A SER S (A Bud - Tri) ---France-------------------------------|A BUD - Tri FAIL (2:2) A RUH - Kie FAIL |A GAL S (A Vie H) A BEL S (A Hol H) |A VIE S (A Bud - Tri) CUT (Boh) A BUR - Ruh FAIL |---Italy------------------------------ A HOL S (A Bur - Ruh) |A BOH - Vie FAIL (2:2) A PIC S FRE (A Kie - Ber) ILL |A MUN - Boh FAIL F Bre - ECH |A TYR S (A Boh - Vie) F SpS - MID |A TRI S (A Boh - Vie) CUT (Bud) ---Germany------------------------------|F Gre - ION A BER H |F ALB S (A Tri H) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- POSITIONS: Austria: 5 A Mos Ser Bud Gal Vie England: 9 A Lvn Kie Den StP Edi F Nts Bal Hel Nwy France: 7 A Ruh Bel Bur Hol Pic F Ech Mid Germany: 1 A Ber Italy: 6 A Boh Mun Tyr Tri F Ion Alb Turkey: 6 A Rum Bul Sev F Gre Con Eme SUPPLY CENTERS (New in caps, old in parens) Austria: 5 Vie, Bud, War, Ser, (Tri), MOS England: 8 Lvp, Edi, Lon, Nwy, StP, Swe, Den, (Mos), Kie France: 7 Mar, Par, Bre, Spa, Por, Bel, Hol Germany: 1 Ber Italy: 6 Ven, Rom, Nap, Tun, Mun, (Gre), TRI Turkey: 7 Con, Smy, Ank, Sev, Rum, Bul, GRE BUILDS: England: -1 Turkey: 1 PRESS: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Turkey -> Austria: hope you got Moscow this turn. Turkey -> Italy: Since you offered me Greece and Austria's going to help me take it, I might as well move in now. You're in a good position to take on England with your army in Germany, you can help the French at least get ONE German center. As for attacking Austria, I don't think it's such a good idea since England is going to try to take Russia and he's the only one there to stop him. Turkey -> France: hmmm moving into Brest? If England doesn't move into the Channel now, you'd better move into MAO! [gm note: he did!] Turkey -> England: I don't think you really want a draw, you've got too good a position! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rome-Paris: Start moving an army or two this way. Munich is yours for the taking (support yourself in just in case). My move was designed to keep out the Turkish fleets as long as possible, possibly at the expense of Greece. But please hurry up with that fleet because I need the help. We have to get a supported Ionian Sea position in place ASAP. Rome-Constantinople: Why the hell should I help you attack England, when you persist in attacking me. What did England ever do to me? I supported Berlin to give my ally France a little leverage. He may do with it whatever he wants, including let England have Berlin. I didn't do it because of your urging to attack England. I just hope England does jump in against you both now that you have made your aims so clear. If you want to work with me from now on, you beg me, you ungrateful little shit, and MAYBE I'll condescend to save your ass again. Until then I will help France (AND England). Rome-World: Sorry if that offended anyone, but I really needed to get it off my chest. My patience has run out. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Paris - World: God Help us all..... Paris - London: I really don't know what to say...I might seem like total scum right now, but after looking at the position, this was the best choice to make. I didn't like the fact that I was boxed in. There was a great suggestion that you let me take Kiel and Berlin and you take St.Petersburg, Warsaw, and Moscow. You decided to go after Kiel and Berlin, such is life... It was fairly obvious to me that our negotiations were going nowhere, both of us were too wary of the other person to allow a total demilitarization, so at least now we know exactly where we stand...On the other hand, if you decided to do the same, then maybe we do have something in common and might still work things out. Paris - Rome: I think my supply of tea just ended...:-( I hope you blocked Turkey out of Ionian, or maybe we lucked out and he didn't go there. Well, I made my bed and now I have to lie in it. Whatever happens, happens...If I succeed and make it into Kiel, I would like your help to make it into Berlin and if I didn't make it into Kiel, I would like your help in making it there. We'll see just how good our martinis are, extra rations were given out before the attack. Paris - Austria: Does that answer your question? Paris - Turkey: Ok, dude, you asked, you received. Now go after Moscow and St.Petersburg, and leave Italy alone. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- England -> France: If Italy is still keeping me out of Berlin, PLEASE ask him to let me in. thanks. England -> Austria: You should be in Moscow by now. My army in Livonia is heading for Prussia to help capture Berlin. I will uphold my neutrality toward you as long as you remain neutral toward me. England -> Italy: If you support me in to Berlin, I will grant you 1 wish. =============================================================================== VERSAILLES: Autumn 1905 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- no retreats PRESS: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- England -> France: Please, do not insult me. The "stab" was entirely your doing. My units are all heading away from you. The only fleet left in a location not to your liking is in Helgoland, and even that fleet would soon be gone. My conscience is clear as to who has caused all the problems. England -> Austria: Good luck. Also, please move A Ser - Alb (see Turkey's note). FYI, I'm going to disband the army in StP. You can take StP if you want, but you will only be helping France/Italy. My army in Livonia is still going to move to Prussia to try to help out with Berlin. England -> Turkey: If Austria moves to Albania (to cut support), you can take the Ionian by moving F Gre - Ion with support of Eas. Also move A Bul - Gre to keep it. Better move Rum - Ukr because Austria will be needing help up north soon. Good luck. England -> Italy: Well, if Turkey is a good tactical player, you're in big trouble. Don't you wish France has listened to me and sent his fleets to help? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rome -> Paris: A Mun s FRE A Ruh-Kie, I suppose I'll stay in Munich as long as you need the support. Let me know when you want it. I guess your fleets are busy. I hope you get a build or two soon, as you need a couple more fleets ASAP. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Paris -> Rome: Well, things worked out only 50% of the way I wanted it. England guessed right as far as Kiel goes, damn it..As far as what do to next in Germany...I am wide open to suggestions. Personally, here are my thoughts 1) I hold my position and try to eat at England on his islands, 2) I go after Kiel from Holland, 3) I go after Kiel from Ruh, 4) You vacate Munich and I move in there (as you had volunteered), 5) If (1) then you support German army and don't let England have it at any cost, 6) if (4) and you move into Silesia then I will support you into Berlin next move. 7) If (2) or (3) then you support me into Kiel. Sorry about the fleet not being there, but the impression I got was that you had it all under control, and anyway, if I can get 2 builds next year, I can build a fleet in Marseilles and help you out. I hope you still trust me in spite of what happened against England. So, give me you suggestion and whatever you say, we'll do. We have to be really coordinated otherwise, we'll go down... Paris -> Turkey: Ok you got you wishes. Build an army in Ankara, move fleet Con back to Black Sea, and have fun in Russia. Also, I hear that Serbian food is very appetizing, suggest that you try it out... More straightforward... Paris -> Vienna: Did you notice that you're now in a perfect position to take Rumania?! Start of with A Mos - Sev, and the rest will follow... Just a thought... Paris -> London: <Ding!> Round 1... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Austria - Turkey: Boy, Italy sure does get excited when he doesn't get a build. Now that France is attacking England, I think we can feel safe that our alliance with England is still good; he needs us now. And, of course, I still need you. I hope you don't feel the need to build another army; a fleet in Smyrna would be nice :-). Sorry about not supporting you into Greece but things worked out as I expected. I had to try and fool Italy to make an attempt to get Trieste back but at least in that respect he turned out to be a better player that I thought. But he is up against a wall now. He can't support both the Ionian Sea and Trieste so he will lose one if we attack both in the spring. As for our border, I'd feel better if one of your armies backed off but I see no justification to ask for Rumania back. That gives you a 3/1 split of those centers but that is better than I had hoped at one point. Happy sailing. Austria - England: Sigh. I hope we can help you out but Turkey and I are both a long way from your troubles. (But why didn't you move Kiel-Berlin, Denmark-Kiel instead of playing with a convoy?) If I do, it will be Holl-Kiel. Telling you would make it too easy for England to optimize his attack. I may support Berlin. I may withdraw. Good luck. Attacking England must have been the result of too many martinis. If you even considered Turkey's advice in your decision, then you have lost it. He never said that he would help attack, only that someone ought to. Rome -> Vienna: I am really tired of this mess. I have nothing against you other than the war we are fighting at my instigation. Turkey, on the other hand, is a real pain in the ass. My objective at this point is to keep him out of the winner's circle. I am going to do everything in my power to keep him out of the Ionian. Since France cannot help, I will eventually lose this war, so I just want to make sure that you come out ahead of Turkey, far enough to stomp on him. The longer I can stall him, the more of my centers you will get. Of course if you want to attack him, this would be a good time, as you know all of his moves. Please attack me in the Fall in several places so that I can disband and rebuild them as fleets in southern Italy. I think Turkey is going to try to eat you from behind as you take my centers, so be careful. p.s. - congratulations =============================================================================== That's all for now.
