In 1905 the German Emperor Wilhelm made the declaration, that Germany is only interested in peaceful relations to the other countries and builds fleets to enshure this peace. Le Matin: After the short delay in our plans which had been necessary to eliminate the Italian threat finally our armies are marching towards England. Toevallig heeft de oostenrijkse keizer net 15000 kamelen gekocht in Tunesie. Deze worden aangeboden voor een prijs van 1200 shilling. Dat is 40 % onder de huidige prijs van Turkije De sultan heeft bij het horen van dit nieuws al de haren uit zijn hoofd getrokken. Dit is ook de reden waarom hij sinds kort een tulband draagt. Financien: De Roebel is fors in waarde gestegen sinds de oostenrijkse regering 55 % van de russische bedrijven heeft opgekocht. De stijging werd nog verder bevordert door de belofte van de keizer dat hij zeer binnen kort iets aan de toestand in rusland iets zou komen doen. In een persbericht van gistermiddag verklaarde de Sultan dat in verband met de gestegen behoefte aan kamelen de prijs van vers kameelvlees de gestege vraag zou moeten volgen. Ondanks protesten van de bevolking van de zuidelijke provincies zal deze maatregel per 1 juli 1901 ingaan. Kaiser treedt in huwelijk met 13-jarige Chinese prinses! In Berlijn zwerft al dagenlang het gerucht dat de Kaiser zich heeft verloofd, deze keer is de aanstaande de 13-jarige Chinese prinses Yu-li-Hai, die momenteel op een kostschool in Engeland zit.
