Who's Who in PBM Gaming From: mead@uxh.cso.uiuc.edu Date: Fri, 30 Mar 1990 20:46:00 +0000 The Who's Who in PBM (they mean Play by Snail Mail) Gaming recently came out. I contained player names, aliases, addresses, etc... as well as game descriptions, ads for games, and stuff.... (One main difference from the Snail mailers and us (you?) is that the moderators charge real money, usually $2-$7 per turn, 2 or 3 turns a month.) Anyway, I *don't* want to waste a lot of bandwidth arguing why I'm not braindead for playing snail mail games (and - oh my god! - paying for it). What I want to know is this: Is there interest in a PBeM Who's Who? I'd like some help putting one togather if there is interest. potential problems: -Users (and particularly their specific logons) change too rapidly. -There is no use. -Listing moderators is useless since they typically cannot add players (or they would have by now). ... What do YOU think? Please EMAIL me with whowho in the subject line, and I'll post a summary. -alan One night in late October, When I was far from sober, Returning with my load of manly pride, My feet began to stutter, So I lay down in the gutter, And a pig came near and lay down by my side; A lady passing by was heard to say: "You can tell a man who boozes, By the company he chooses," And the pig got up and slowly walked away. -UNKNOWN :-) University of Illinois (Urbana) : mead@uxh.cso.uiuc.edu :-) Up
