(Inquiring Deities want to know!) Pope and King Ousted, Archbishop of Rome Named for Both After this year's Italian civil unrest and bad manners after finding our King in bed with Pope Paul the Umpteenth and 3 maids, peace finally reigns in the streets of Rome. Just a FEW weeks ago the select board of Regents to Keep the Peace unanimously voted to oust King Victor Emmanuel II and urged the Vatican officials to remove the Pope from office. Vatican officials agreed. After a very short time deliberating it was decided that Archbishop of Rome Franjesco Di Vincenzo should replace the aging and decrepit Pope Paul. The new Pope took the title Not-So-Pious, the first of that line, and went to business finding a new king. It was felt that the Church should have a stronger role in reconstructing the new government, so also by unanimous vote (and a rumored threat that anyone voting against it would be excommunicated) Pope Not-So-Pious I was crowned King of Italy. Said the new King and Pope, "I am very happy and surprised to attain both of these great positions. I will now not have to concern myself as one leader to upset the other. I am both." New King/Pope Shows Concern Over Strategic Position During the Ceremony surrounding the Casting off of the new 3rd Fleet out of Naples, our new King/Pope expressed concern over Italy's poor posture in the East. Said Not-So-Pious I, "I was never much in watching world politics and military pursuits, but even I know better than let the Turks just waltz into the Adriatic!" The King/Pope also informed the press of certain difficulties he had attempting to contact King Elliott of Austria. He hopes his new addresses work this time. And now, a word from our sponser: Italy -> Austria: I tried some new address types. If they didn't get to you let me know somehow... Italy -> New France: Greetings. You shouldn't be here much longer, so I thought I'd get my Hello in now... From Our Illustrious Editor: Pope Not-So-Pious I. The deadline!
