Burn me twice, shame on me." I turned my backed to you once already this game, and you stabbed. Now I'm supposed to move out of the North Sea before you move out of the Channel? You must be kidding. I want our war to end, but not with my death. I'm willing to mutually withdraw from the war, but I don't see how you can expect me to withdraw first and "trust" that you'll withdraw second. If you move your fleet to Brest, there is no way for me to stab you. Both your fleets are still in position to defend yourself. When you see my fleet move to Denmark, it will be obvious that I will not attack you. BUT, if I withdraw to Denmark first, you can still stab me by moving to the North Sea which is not a pretty sight for any Englishman. We've taken the first step: you moved to MAO, I moved to Nwy. Please take the next step so that we can go about our own business. England -> Austria: Good luck. I voted against the AET proposal and have asked for a vote of an Austria/England/France draw. Is that acceptable to you? (France, is that acceptable to you?) I guess if Turkey withdraws from Serbia and you want to go with the AET vote, let me know. And I hope my faith in you hasn't been ruined: ie. I hope you moved A StP-Mos. England -> Italy: Nothing personal about my move to Munich. I just want to make sure France is on the up and up. As long as he doesn't stab again, I'll move back to Berlin in the Fall. England -> Turkey: What next? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Austria -> England: Well, with any luck, France made the bonehead move to Piedmont which should give you Munich. One center at a time is fast enough. Wouldn't want these guys to catch on that they are losing. You did move your fleets into position to take Holland, right? Austria -> France: How does it go? There are two types of Diplomacy players, those who have stabbed me and those who have not yet had the chance to stab me... I have nothing against you either, I just don't want you to win. Austria -> Turkey: Damn, another army left to stagnate in the wasteland of Turkey. Our only hope was for you to see the value of our alliance and that England would advance on France. Sigh. What a waste of centers. Austria -> Italy: I'm attacking... I hope together we can knock Turkey back down to size. England/Austria/Italy sounds good to me... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Italy -> Austria: There was nothing else I could do to ensure that I could defend my home centers in the Fall, assuming he takes the Ionian in the Spring. Hopefully, in the fall, I can do something more direct against Turkey. We really need a third fleet. What about me retaking Venice this Fall? I am going to need it to keep from losing one for Munich. About the 'I had to stop you' - I really beleived it when I said/did it - much to my current regret at the way things have turned. But I think that Turkey was just poking fun at my reason. He did it because he needed to in order to win, and it would have gotten more difficult for him to stab you as time went on. I am now in this to the end against Turkey, so you need have no worries about me attacking you. Italy -> Paris: Send a fleet this way ASAP to help. Since you really cannot afford to remove one from the English border, build F Mars this Winter with Munich. (I can't get there to defend it and England will be so tempted if you don't take it). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Turkey -> Italy: Well you're not really going to get much from me if you are going to really attack me. By the time you get enough fleets to get close to me, Austria will have taken most of my centers and probably go after you next. In fact, the only way you're going to get some fleets quick is to attack Austria. Turkey -> Austria: there was no way I could hold Rumania with what you had so hopefully I got Ukr at least Turkey -> France: well, if you and England have patches things up, and Italy is your ally and I'm too far away for you to get any sc's, Austria must be your next target. Vienna in the spring is beautiful... :) Turkey -> England: I hope you'll take advantage of me tying up Austria's units to take StP back and possibly move an army to Prussia... Turkey -> world: Ok now things are more interesting! =============================================================================== VERSAILLES: Summer 1908 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Austrian army Ukr retreats to War. Thanks. I've asked the moderator to take a vote on a Austria/England/France draw. England -> Austria: See message to France. Is AEF draw acceptable to you? England -> Turkey: Hello. England -> Italy: Thanks for getting France to move to the Med. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Italy -> Turkey: I would be happy to see Austria take every single one of your centers while I sit by and watch. By the way, looks like I have another fleet anyway. We will see whether or not I can get a piece of you. Italy -> France: Tryhennian in the Fall? Thanks for dropping by. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Austria -> England: What can I say but "attack France". Sure, you can take St.P and that would pretty much decide my fate in the game. I think it would be you and France who would then win, as I still wouldn't let Turkey out of his little corner for as long as I could hold on, and I think Italy feels the same. But what has France done to deserve a victory? He continues to attack you every chance he gets. Jump on the opening he has given you and push him out of *your* channel and then convoy some armies to the mainland behind his front line. That will get his attention. Austria -> Italy: Not that you have much choice, but I wouldn't trust that French fleet as far as I could throw it. I'm going to try to get out of Venice this season. I don't think you will hold Ionian again and an attack of Greece might cut some of Turkey's needed support. But it is a guessing game and you've guessed pretty well so far. Austria -> France: Ok, good moves. I obviously hope it was luck and that England will agree. Nothing personal, mind you. Hell, I don't even know you! Austria -> Turkey: Get ready... here I come... If you have had a sudden change of heart, let me know. It isn't too late to contend for a draw. =============================================================================== VERSAILLES: Fall 1908 ---England----------------------------------Turkey----------------------------- A BER S (A Kie H) |A UKR - Sev A KIE S (A Ber H) |A Ser S (A Sev - Rum) FAIL (Ret. ???) As long as you do not build a fleet in Brest, I will continue my Eastern movement. England -> Austria: Sorry, but I had St. Pete first. The real reason I moved here is that you do not have any home SCs to build in so the extra center doesn't help you any. Good luck. England -> Italy: Hello. England -> Turkey: Can't wait to see those Fall moves. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- France -> England: Don't take my move to Belgium as threatening, it's just a precaution. I assume you held on to your word and I am now in Kiel, if not.. well...BTW, I never implied that you were the first one to leave North Sea, sorry if it caused you problems. If you didn't attack me in E.Channel, then I think we are on a way to peace. Might I suggest a St.P -> Mos -> Sev route.. France -> Italy: Here comes the long awaited fleet..Don't listen to Austria, I don't plan on making same mistake twice. As before, let me know what you want and such will be done France -> Austria: If you keep stirring up waters, my armies just might move East... BTW, how do you know you don't know me? :-) France -> Turkey: Nice knowing you... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Austria -> Turkey: Is this interesting enough for you? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Turkey -> Austria: Well we'll see if you're true to your word about giving Venice back Turkey -> Italy: If you didn't get Venice back this turn, I can support it next year. Sorry about Albania, but I need it to attack Trieste. I'm perfectly satisfied with us just bouncing each other out of the Ionian. If I had REALLY wanted to be there, I would have been there already since I have more fleets than you. Turkey -> France: So what are YOUR plans? If you're just going to sit and watch, you're missing out on a great opportunity. Let me know if you need any support Turkey -> England: You're in a worse position than France since most of your forces aren't contiguous...you'll be a sitting duck again if you don't act =============================================================================== VERSAILLES: Autumn 1908 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Turkish army in Serbia retreats to Greece POSITIONS: Austria: 7 A Mos Ser War Tri Rum Bud Vie England: 8 A Ber Kie Den Wal F Lon Bal Nts StN France: 7 A Mun Bur Tyl Hol Bel F Ech Tys Italy: 3 A Ven Rom F Tun Turkey: 8 A Ukr Gre Sev Bul Alb F Adr Aeg Eme PRESS: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Italy -> Turkey: Ha! Thanks. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Austria -> Italy: I really don't care if people believe me any more. It is just a game, right? *I* know I've been honest with everyone. Hey, I see you got that Albania fleet back over to Naples. Neat. Too bad that means one more nasty little turd, err turk on my border. Austria -> Turd, err Turkey: 2 disbands! Ouch. And look who got them. England and France. Get the picture yet? Hello? Anyone home?? Austria -> England: Look, exactly what kind of move did France make last turn, going after Kiel again? Some ally that one is. You still prefer a three way draw to a solo victory? Look, I'll tie up Austria and by the time you wipe out France, you will have the centers and position you need to win. Trust me. Austria -> France: I don't understand, why do you continue to attack England? Why do you need Kiel?? Hmm, building a fleet in Brest? That would show him. Hey, you need an ally? I don't think you will have England for very long. Let me and Italy take care of Turkey (won't be long now) and I have armies that can help you. Let me know. Austria -> England/France: I really doubt that you two won't jump on each other again next year. Doesn't *anyone* want my help? I think I've made some pretty good moves (for a gunboat game)... I'd hate to see it all be wasted sitting on Turkey. Well, my cat needs me. I'm going home. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- England -> France: Good moves once again. As I said in the Fall, as long as you do not build a fleet in Brest, I will continue heading East. England -> Austria: Like I said, you couldn't make use of the extra SC anyway, and I needed it to keep France honest. After Turkey disbands 2, you should be in a much better position. England -> Turkey: Hello. England -> Italy: Do you want in on the final draw, or would a draw that does not include Italy be acceptable to you? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- France -> England: Ahem..excuse me, but didn't you promise me Kiel at one time or another? I really appreciate you moving East and holding to our agreement, I will not build a fleet in Brest, providing you don't build one either, but... a relocation into Prussia and Livonia would be a most welcome sight for my eyes. Oops, sorry, I meant Berlin, Prussia and Livonia..don't want to make you see things that aren't there. France -> Italy: Here come the cavalry...Let me know what you want me to do. France -> Turkey: My plans?! Help Italy kick you behind... How's that? France -> Austria: Howdy... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Turkey -> Austria: Well looks like I outguessed myself, congratulations. we'll just make sure the pesky Italians don't get a piece of me. =============================================================================== VERSAILLES: Winter 1908 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BUILDS: England: 1 A Edi France: 1 F Mar Italy: 1 F Nap Turkey: -2 (A Bul), (A Sev) FINAL POSITIONS: Austria: 7 A Mos Ser War Tri Rum Bud Vie England: 9 A Ber Kie Den Wal Edi F Lon Bal Nts StN France: 8 A Mun Bur Tyl Hol Bel F Ech Tys Mar Italy: 4 A Ven Rom F Tun Nap Turkey: 6 A Ukr Gre Alb F Adr Aeg Eme PRESS: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- France -> England: So, when are you gonna keep your word and give me Kiel? Why do I still want it, for the same reason you wanted St.Pet, to keep you honest.. no offense intended. Assuming you didn't build a fleet, my fleet in E.Ch will be out of there in the Spring. France -> Italy: The fleet is there to help you in your fight with Turkey. If he disbands 2 fleets, then it will probably not be needed so it will just hang around Spain/W.Med/GoL. BTW, you got your support... France -> Turkey: Thanks for the offer, but Italy is one country that I do trust 100% and I would rather have a true ally who is not strong militarily (yet) than one who is, but doubtful as far as trust goes.. France -> Austria: See my message to Turkey... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Austria -> Italy/Turkey: Is it too late to stop the west from winning? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- England -> France: I know that I owe you Kiel. Do you blame me for being cautious? You still have a fleet threatening my homeland, while I have no units in position to threaten you. You ask me to move to Liv and Pru, but when are you going to vacate the Channel? I built A Edi as you wished. If you built a fleet in Brest, I guess I'll just have to live with it. Remember though, you tried to invade my homeland once and got 0 SCs. If you try again the same will happen. With a fleet and 2 armies on my island, you'll have a hell of a time making any headway. If you did not build a fleet in Brest (as you promised I might add), then great. England -> Austria: Hopefully there are no hard feelings. I do believe StP is mine since I had it first. England -> Turkey: Bye. England -> Italy: Hi. =============================================================================== That's all from this game. Cheers, Lord Valentine Referenced By Up
