Diplomacy Zine --- Chapter Three EP #168 From: mad-2@kub.nl (C. Wekx) Date: Tue, 22 May 1990 10:54:15 +0000 Issue #168 of ELECTRONIC PROTOCOL: ------------- Chapter Three ------------- This chapter contains results from DAWN PATROL (#23), BERLIN (#32), EL ALAMEIN (#41), SNIKKEL 1 (#42), SNIKKEL 2 (#43), SQUALANE (#45), UNGAWE (#51), CAPTAIN CAVEMAN (#50) and blind game MULHOUSE (#22). Winter '06 of the game MULHOUSE (MNC number 1989ISrd24) (Blind game, GM is sears@hplabs.hp.com/Bart Sears) Date: Wed, 16 May 90 23:06:19 pdt Winter 1906: ** Deadline ** Spring 1907 moves are due Sunday, May 20, 10pm PDT. ** Votes ** There is a proposal to declare France the winner. Please vote on this with your Spring 07 moves. Please note that while this vote must be unanimous, No Vote Received(NVR)=YES. If this vote is like the last one where only two people bothered to vote, two people could determine the winner. Unless you hear otherwise from me, assume that Karl Botts is still playing England. If he is replaced, I will extend the deadline. ** Press ** (None) Date: Mon, 21 May 90 13:44:47 PDT Spring/Summer 1907 ** Deadline ** Fall 1907 moves are due Sunday, May 27, 10pm PDT. ** GM Notes ** Everyone was on time! And on top of that, I had recieved the necessary conditional moves to resolve the Summer moves as well. If you don't have a "You see" for Summer, it means that you see no change. ** Votes ** The Vote to conceed the game to France was Yes=0, No=3 , NVR=Yes=3. Since the vote must be unanimous, it fails. I suppose that having three people vote is a 50% improvement over having 2 people vote, but I still would not call it a wild turn out. ** Press ** (France) Fra to All: Nice try, guys. I don't know who proposed the concession but I'm not having any part of it. Next time you want to try something like that, how about being a little less cowardly and doing it in public? (London) The Temporary-who-now-appears-to-be-permanent PM of England held a press conference here yesterday. In it he condemned the continued Russian aggression towards England. "We shall never surrender! We shall fight on the beaches! We shall fight in the North Sea". He warned the Russians that the North Sea is considered sovereign English Territory, and any intrusion shall be severly dealt with. He also implored the Germans to realise that the Russo-Turkish alliance would crush Germany in a short time, and that Germany will need the help of England to survive. He maintained that the English occupation of Helgoland Bight was in an effort to force the Germans back to the negotiation table. He hopes that the Kaiser notices that no attack was made on any German possessions. The deadline! Fall '04 (retreats): as soon as possible. Constantijn Date: 22-MAY-1990 09:10 Yo! Two things.
