Diplomacy Zine -- Chapter One From: daybell@sal-sun62.usc.edu (Donald Daybell) Date: Thu, 26 Apr 1990 02:08:42 +0000 Issue 160 of ELECTRONIC PROTOCOL ----------- Chapter One ----------- This chapter contains results for the games BLITZKRIEG,OPERATION OVERLORD, GETTYSBURG, and HMS HOOD Fall 1911 of game BLITZKRIEG (BNC 1989HL) (GM is dougi@astro.as.utexas.edu/ Doug Ingram) Blitzkrieg -- Fall 1911 When we moved, one book we did keep is called "Survive the Deadly Wind." I don't know where we got it, but it's about hurricanes, and so we thought it might contain useful information about life in Miami. "Any large pieces of aluminum left in a yard are a definite hazard," it states. "Each piece has a potential for decapitation. Hurled on the tide of a 150-mile-an-hour wind, it can slice its way to, and through, bone." Ha ha! As it turned out, it seems that the only supply center that changed hands was Smyrna, giving Turkey a disband and Russia a build. As soon as I receive orders from these two, I will publish Winter 1911 results. I will be out of town from Tuesday the 10th until Sunday the 15th, and so orders will not be due for Spring until the following Wednesday, which is the 18th. I won't be able to confirm orders, answer question, etc. in that time. Blitzkrieg -- Winter 1911 "Buy my book," I always advise my readers. I won't be able to respond to mail in the interim, but I will confirm all orders received once I get back. Since I received no orders from Turkey at the time (now) that I had to leave town for the week, I decided to perform the disband on his unit which was forced to retreat. This seems the most logical option, and it enables the game to go on as normal, keeping the deadline for Spring 1912 intact. Turkey, if you're having email difficulties or something and want something different, then I will understand. I have bent the rules in this case ONLY because I don't think it will make a bit of difference in the outcome of the coming year. Blitzkrieg -- Spring 1912 Socially prominent people are very fond of diease, because it gives them a chance to have these really elaborate charity functions, and the newspaper headlines say "EVENING IN PARIS BALL RAISES MONEY TO FIGHT GOUT" instead of "RICH PEOPLE AMUSE THEMSELVES." -- Dave Barry, "The Elements of Elegance" *************** Austria: F ADR-ION, F AEG SF ADR-ION, A SER-GRE, A VEN-APU, [A CON S*Rus*A SMY] (nso), A TYR-VEN, A BOH-TYR, A VIE-GAL, [A UKR S*Rus*A SEV] (nso) England: A STP-H, A GAS SA BRE-PAR, (F NAP-ION), F ION-TUN, F ROM-H, F MAR-H, F ECH-MAO, [F BEL SF HOL], *[F HOL SF BEL]*, (F NTS-DEN), F NWS-NWY, F BAR SA STP, A PIC SF BEL, A BRE-PAR Germany: (A BUR-BEL), A RUH-HOL, A KIE SA RUH-HOL, (F DEN-NTS), F SWE-FIN, (A LIV-STP), A MOS SA LIV-STP, A WAR SA MOS Russia: (A SEV-ARM), (A SMY-ARM) Turkey: (A ANK-ARM) Notes: () indicate bounced moves. All across the peninsula, spaniards and portuguese have been confirming that they much prefer the cruel and despotic tyranny of the French, while the newly re-installed Governor was heard to state 'Its great to have them back under my heel again'. Meanwhile, on the naval front, the new French fleet has left port under the command of Captain Van Der Vecken, recently back from his travels around South America. The fleet expects to be paying bad-will visits to several Italian ports during its cruise.
